I sat within another cave counting down the seconds till the next cannon fire. Biting my lip I peaked out from the cave only to be met with the barren waste land.

After our encounter with the creature Amanda was close to fainting. For fear of her hitting her head I rushed to the nearest cave to let her rest.

Looking back at her lifeless body I only hoped that we would get out of this alive. Turning back to the outside world I paused watching a shadow saunter through the sand.

Standing to my feet I leaned out a bit more to catch a glimpse of this monster. But within a instant it was gone, breathing a sigh of relief I thought it might have vanished.

But I was wrong, not long after a gun shot rang through my ears. Grabbing my sword I rushed out of the cave, but I did not make it far before a voice called out behind me.

"Regina?" Amanda shouted her voice quivering. "What was that!" she shouted once more when I did not give her a response.

"I do not know." I answered truthfully, "I promise to come back if something happens." she nodded before retreating back within the cave.

I was about to breath another sigh when a scream vibrated through the air. Without hesitation I rushed to the sound of the scream.

All the while thinking of Amanda hidden safely in the cave. I wondered how she must feel with all this death looming around her.

As a child of Sector 2 I could not blame her for being fearful, I shook my head discarding the thought. Now is not the time to think about her, I must help who ever was screaming.

Approaching the end of a small sand dune I gasped in utter horror. Human corpses were sprawled in every direction, It was hard to say how many for most were torn in two.

I shuttered before turning to watch a creature of the night stand in the center of all the carnage. A bit of my food return to my throat as I watched it destroy it's next victim.

After it was done it lifted its nose to the air and sniffed almost searching for it's next kill. Transforming my sword I wondered if I was close enough to hit it.

I watched, waiting for it to make it's next move. What was this thing? It seemed to be human at one point, but any trace of the person was long gone.

Laying on the sand dune I prayed that the bullet would make contact. Suddenly the beast turned its head to me.

Gasping my mouth went dry holding my breathing waiting for it to strike. But it didn't, shaking it's long snout it turned to another victim.

The small girl gasped and began to run, and the creature gladly followed. I left out my breath only for a second before rushing after the beast.

I could not let it get to the girl, as I ran my eye sight became clear. Showing me the face of the beast's next prey.

No, it can't be.
