I couldn't believe it, thoughts rushed to my head as I paced around my room. How could the King lie to his staff let alone his own son. The thought just boggles my mind.
I was pacing so much I didn't hear a knock at the door, "Regina?" Stopping I turned a smile appearing on my face. "Taiga? What are you doing here?" I asked gesturing for her to enter.
She gave a smiled before entering, "I am sorry to bother you, but I don't exactly wish to train alone and I was wondering if you would like to join me?" Giving a slight laugh I nodded.
"Since the test would seem to be tomorrow I will gladly take you up on your offer." We didn't waste any time, rushing out of the room we hurried to the training room Karen showed me before.
Arriving we couldn't believed the amount of people in there. I guess we weren't the only ones worrying about the first test that was fast approaching. Even though it would seem that the bulk of people in there have only mastered the art of seduction, something I assure you will not help them on the battle field.
Scanning the room my sight couldn't help but land on the only familiar face. The one and only Elizabeth, oh of course why am I not surprised to see her here. Giving Taiga a look I walked over to the living embodiment of being stuck up.
"Hello Elizabeth, how are you today?" Looking up for only a second she scowled at me, "Well if it isn't Regina, if you're trying to suck up to me to get my weights it's not happening."
Scoffing at her words I couldn't help, but smile a bit. "Oh no Elizabeth, I didn't come over to ask for your current weights. I only wish for you to move so I may grab the ones I desire."
She gave me a look refusing to move a single inch, if I didn't know her I would say she has guts. But sadly I do, "Elizabeth, I am asking nicely. Please move." Narrowing her eyes she moved slightly.
"Are you so over confident in yourself that you believe that you can lift these monsters?" By her tone I could only assume she was currently taking about the weights behind her.
"No, I am not over confident. I just happen to know my own strength." Pushing past her I gripped the handles, my eyes drifted to the number forty on each of the weights. Feeling myself smile a bit I lifted both with ease.
Shocking not only Elizabeth, but most of the room as well. Walking over to Taiga she smiled, "Congratulations Regina, it would seem that you are the current threat to watch out for." Lightly laughing at her words I began to ponder what she said.
If what Taiga said was true and I was truly the common threat at the moment then they are not prepared for what is to come in the next couple of days. I couldn't help, but feel worried for their safety.
Four hours passed in the training room, many people came and left. Taiga and myself weren't one of them, we were more afraid then anything.
I finally told Taiga about the true nature of the first test, but she already knew the bulk of it. Books she said were her greatest ally before meeting me.
Another hour passed before our maids came looking for us, telling us there was a dinner we must attend. Parting our ways I walked back to my room in silence.
Bitting my lip I couldn't help but wonder what this mandatory dinner was about. My maids gave me no clues telling me not even they knew anything.
Thanking them for helping me prepare I made my slow and long trek to the dinning room. One I entered I wasn't the only one feeling the pressure. Many of the other selected stood there waiting for the King to enter.
Each one with tears in their eyes and a grimace on their face. I myself was no different, but what started to consume me was not fear. It was anger.
Anger towards the King mostly, but that all changed the moment the door swung open. Reveling the entire royal family, each one smiling except Koji. He looked up meeting eyes with me before talking his seat.
"Selected!" The King's voice boomed, "Tomorrow the first test will commence, we wish you all the best of luck. Now enjoy you meal." I almost chocked on my spit, that is what he wished yo say to us?
The rest of the selected just sat there in shock as the King began to eat. Within seconds some stared to cry and others just ran from the room. A small portion of girls stayed attempting to stomach even a couple bits of food. I myself looked down at my plate feeling quite sick.
Suddenly I felt a light tap on my shoulder, "You want to leave?" Taiga whispered as I nodded. There was not way I was dying on the first test.
Now I have only one goal in mind, surviving.
