When They Met Meisha's MomJason and Meisha had beaten them home, much to Adam’s disappointment. He wanted more alone time with Ahana. Meisha was babbling nonstop about her spa weekend. She complained and complimented in the same sentences, so it was difficult to comprehend if she enjoyed it.
Jason asked how their weekend was, giving Adam a knowing look. Knowing because he had been one of the friends Adam had invited to the cabin that fateful, horrible weekend when he was ten years old.
“We had a great time. We took the long trail,” Ahana answered.
Jason gave Adam a questioning look, but Adam just smiled at Ahana.
“Private joke,” he said.
“Well, I have to go. Have to get up early tomorrow.” Jason kissed Meisha passionately. Adam watched for Ahana’s reaction, but she wasn’t looking at them. She was smiling back at him. Maybe she was over Jason.
If she was over him, what would that mean for them? Adam certainly hadn’t had enough Ahana time. He wasn’t bored with her in any way. In reality, he was scared she was fed up with him. He’d never thought that with any other girl.
Jason ended the kiss, holding Meisha’s shoulders. Adam tried not to roll his eyes when Meisha batted her eyelashes like crazy. “I’ll see you on Tuesday, babe,” Jason said, and then he turned to Ahana. “I guess I’ll see you Tuesday night too, Ahana.”
“I’ll be there,” she replied.
Adam had no idea what they were talking about. When Meisha walked Jadson out, Adam almost slammed the door behind them. “What’s Tuesday night?”
Ahana looked down nervously. “Dinner with Meisha's Mom. Meisha’s introducing Jason to her.”
“What time should I be there?” The statement dropped out of his mouth as if it was the most natural thing to say.
Ahana looked at Adam with horror and shook her head. “I could never subject you to that. I don’t even want to have dinner with her myself.Besides She's Meisha's Mom. Why do you want to Meet her? Why do you wanna be introduced as my boyfriend? ”
“Ahana, it’s a step for them. We should have the same step. I want to be there.” He realized he did. Maybe it was his curiosity again, but it seemed like so much more.
“I don’t know about this,” she replied.
He pulled her in for a tight embrace.“I won’t come if you don’t want me to, but if any part of you would like me there as your pretend boyfriend…or just your friend, tell me a time.”
* * * *Adam pulled up to the stylish colonial in the affluent area of Colon Park. He was not surprised Meisha came from money. She wasn't like his Ahana, She worked so hard for everything she had. This type of background didn't actually suited his Ahana.
It did, however, perfectly fit Meisha.Ahana greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. Meisha's mother was a svelte woman who looked like an older version of Meisha in a stylish red dress. Wow, Meisha’s mom’s a MILF, Adam thought. She was fawning over a bouquet of flowers Jason had brought. Of course Jason would buy flowers.
Adam rubbed the back of his neck, wondering why he hadn’t thought of the gesture. It occurred to him right away. Adam had never had any interest in meeting any girl’s family or friends before.
Once he had met up at a restaurant with one of the girls he was seeing. Her mother had coincidentally shown up at the same restaurant. Once they were introduced, he excused himself to use the bathroom, made a beeline for the door, and never returned any of her calls.
