Adam landed in India and went straight to Ahana's house. But he was met with disappointment, as he saw that the door was locked from outside. He ran fingers through his hairs, in frustration.
“Where could be She?” thought Adam.
Then Adam remembered, that Ahana used to tell neighbours about her whereabouts, before leaving.
Adam knocked vigorously on the neighbour's door. After some moments, an old lady opened the door. She sized him up with her eyes,“Who are you, Young man?”

“ I'm the boyfriend of your neighbor. The girl residing in apartment D-36?”
“The one with fair skin colour? Sorry to tell you, but I hate your girlfriend. That girl doesn't have any manners! Her mother hasn't taught her anything. She can never keep her husband happy.” The old lady squinted her eyes.
Adam chuckled, hearing her.

“No. No. I'm not talking about Meisha. I'm talking about Ahana.”
“Oh! Her? She's such a good child. She's a wonderful girl... Always helps me with groceries. I don't even know that, how a kind soul like her is friends with that evil one?”
“Me too. I'm also wondering that.” said Adam with a shrug in his shoulders.

“You are her boyfriend? She never told that.” asked the old lady.
“Well, Ma'am, we kinda had a break up. But now, I have realised what she means to me… Cutting long talk to short, I have to meet her. But she's not home. So, Do you know where she might be?” asked Adam with expectant eyes.
“I know where she is. But I'm not going to tell you.” answered the old lady.
“What? Why?”

“You broke that poor girl's heart. Now, that explains all. Why she was so gloomy in past days. You broke up with her? Are you Idiot? I would've made her my daughter-in-law, but my son likes guys like you.” The old lady sighed heavily.
“Ma’am, please! Tell me,where she is. I know I was an idiot in breaking her heart, But I need to tell her my feelings.”
“No. I will not.”

“We both love each other. It was a just small misunderstanding… Because of Meisha.” Adam flashed a sincere look towards the old lady.
“What? Really?” asked the old lady, raising her eyebrows.
“Sorry, Meisha!” thought Adam to himself, before responding to the old lady,“Yes Ma'am. Meisha lied to me that Ahana is having an affair with Jason, her boyfriend, behind my back.”

“No. She doesn't. At first, I observed that she had a little crush on him. But, No. She isn't the type of girl to have an affair. Even few days ago, I saw him trying to hug her. But, she didn't seem much into it. I heard that, he even asked her for a dinner…”
“He asked her for a dinner? You mean along with Meisha, Right?”
“No. He asked her for a dinner ‘alone’. I heard it through the door.” said the old lady.

Adam narrowed his eyes at her.
“What? Everyone does it. You will do it too, when you will be old, living alone in your home. You grab at every chance of entertainment, you get. Anyhow, I'm not giving you her address.”
“Why are you being so difficult, Old woman? Do you want some cash?” asked Adam.

The old lady smashed her cane against Adams's leg lightly,“My husband has left me enough money, so that I haven't had to deal with jerks like you. Haven't your parents taught you, how you should behave with your elders? Now, I feel it's good that you two got separated!” said the old lady and tried to close her door.

Adam crouched on his knees and folded his hands,“ Please tell me, where she is? I don't want to lose her to any man. Without her, my life will be like, like… Indian food without spices.”

Asher pouted at the old lady.
The old lady sized him up again,“Fine! I'll tell you on one condition.”
“What condition?”
“If you two get back together,I should be the first one to be invited to the wedding… Are you going to marry her or not?” asked the old lady, with raised eyebrows.
“Definitely. I'll marry her, the moment she'll say yes. See, I have got the ring.” Adam took out the platinum plated diamond ring from his pant pocket.
The old lady looked at the ring and smiled,“ She's at her work. There's some big function going over there, because of the politician Scandal they uncovered. You'll find her there. Now, Go.”
