chapter eight

AUDREY FREEMAN

We're currently sitting in the steps of The Philadelphia Museum of Art, just eating and enjoying the view in front of us. Freddy was sitting on Billy's left side and I was sitting on Billy's right side.

"Man, it's a pretty sick view. I totally get why Rocky was training so hard to get up here," Billy said with his mouth full. "Yeah, it's a great view," I muttered.

Freddy chuckled, waiting until he finished his food before talking. "You know, I like you like this. This is so cool," Freddy said and I hummed in agreement. "I mean, no offense, but like at first you were kind of like the opposite of how.. of how Darla is."

Billy yawned, "A dick?" , Billy said as I chuckled. "Your words, not mine," Freddy said. "But yeah," He added.

"Yeah, I mean, when we first met, I, um, kinda dislike you, no offense," I muttered, Freddy and him chuckled as he said, "None taken." 

"But I guess... it's the first impression, right?" I said as we all chuckled even if there's nothing funny about it.

"Alright, well I feel like every criminal is either on drugs or asleep right now. Want to head home?" Freddy asked. "Looking like this?" Billy asked as he pointed his grown-up self with a ridiculous superhero costume.

"Rosa and Victor will have a heart attack if they see Billy like that," I said and Billy nodded in agreement.

"Yeah probably. But I mean, usually, we'd have a lair to go back to, but now we have a bunk bed," Freddy said.

We all chuckled and just admired the view in front of us, I thought about Billy's decision staying with us, I mean it's his decision but I just want him to. I had really no friends besides Freddy and the others at home and it was really cool if Billy considered me a friend.

I was happy too seeing my brother is really happy to be friends with Billy, like me, Freddy's only friend was me and the others in the home. I think if Freddy isn't disabled he would have many friends and none of them bullies him every day. I would really love to see Freddy and Billy being best friends.

I was in my deep thoughts when someone smacked my forehead, "Ouch! That hurts!" I complain but Freddy ignored me, "What is that for?!"

"Stop thinking about your future with Billy, Auds. We have to head home." He said, not caring if Billy was there. I just looked at my shoes embarrassingly at I stand up.
