chapter twelve

AUDREY FREEMAN

"Your phone's charged. Your phone's charged," Bill said as he pointed his fingers with people's phones and sent a small blast of electricity. We are currently strolling through the mall. We watched Billy with an amused look on our faces.

"You know, you really need like a, um, like a... like a dope catchphrase after you do some cool things," Freddy said and I nodded in agreement.

"I've been thinking about that too," Billy answered. "What about... What about this? That's why you don't mess with electricity," He then wiggled his fingers and I let out a small chuckle.

"Dude, that's..." I trailed off, "Maybe think another catchphrase."

"Catchphrases, obviously aren't one of your superpowers," Freddy said as I nodded slowly.

"Well, you think you can do better?" Billy said and he zapped another man's phone as he says, "Your phone's charged."

The phone lasts a second before erupting into a small explosion. "What the hell?!" the man muttered angrily.

"I have a suggestion--" Before I say anything, Billy put his hands on both Freddy and me back as he pushed as away from the man.

______

"Let there be light!" Billy exclaimed while we're standing in front of a vending machine. He looked around to make sure no one was around before he wiggled his fingers, causing the lightning to flow out of his fingers, hitting the vending machine.

The soda cans began to fly out of the vending machine, some of the cans burst. We began to drink the soda that was unopened.

After drinking about ten cans, I stopped as Billy and Freddy continued to drink the other. Not after a while, Billy speed into the restroom.

"Shazam!" he shouts and a man runs out of the restroom, shocked as he quickly zips up his fly. Freddy and I chuckled at the scenario.

"Hey, so, Billy and you are, you know, a thing?" Freddy asks as I startled.

"What no-- w-why would you think that?" I said.

"You like him, don't you?" he teases.

"What no--- okay fine, I like him... but I don't think he feels the same way." I awkwardly said as he let out a chuckle. "What?"

"I think... you know what... figured it by yourself..." he said.

"What---" I was gonna say something but Billy comes out with his superhero form.

"Hey guys, what I'd miss?" He asked as Freddy opened his mouth as I secretly pinch his arm.

"Nothing you should worry about," I said as I clung my arms on Freddy.

Billy just nodded and walked our way to whatever we're going.

_____

"Gross, You guys seriously doing this?" I disgustedly asked as Billy was preparing to enter a strip club.

"No! It was Freddy's idea!" Billy said as he pointed on Freddy. "Hey it was your idea!" Freddy argues as they started bickering.

I let out a scoff as I rolled my eyes. They stopped bickering and Billy entered a strip club.

"What a gross thing comes from your mind," I huffed but Freddy just shrugged.

He came out for a few minutes as he ate some chicken. "What'd you see? Were there boobies?" Freddy questioned as I raised an eyebrow.

"Ew," I muttered. "Why aren't you talking?" Freddy asked and then he realized something as he looked at me and cover my ears.

"What the hell? Freddy!" I said as I slap his hands off to my ears.

"We're gonna need more money," Billy said as I widen my eyes.

"Why? You were in there for like, five minutes," I said and Freddy nodded.

"They were very convincing!" Billy exclaimed and I shook my head.

"Yeah, that's a no. We're gonna spend our money into something else," I said and the boys pouted. Nope, not gonna work.

_____

We look around, making sure no one was around. "No one was around," I whispered. "Yeah, same here," Freddy said.

Billy brings his hands up and zaps the ATM machine, causing the money inside of it to fly out, spreading everywhere.

We desperately grab as much as we can before running away, avoiding getting caught.

The boys bought consoles, laptops, and some gadgets as I just bought shoes, textbooks, and clothes since my clothes are getting too tight for me.

_____

Billy was back in his teenage form and we're waiting for Freddy as he used the restroom.

"Hey, you know, today was fun... and thank you for the last night. Y-You're the only one who I really opened up to," He said and I smiled.

"I mean, you shouldn't really thanking me. I'm grateful and happy to know your story and besides, I should be the one thanking you for making my brother happy and of course, me too. You are our first friend that we have, of course, except for Mary, Eugene, Pedro, and Darla," I said.

"I think... everyone will love to have a friend like you," he said and I let out a small chuckle, me?

"that's... very funny. no one really wants to be friends with us, Me and Freddy. We're like the school 'freaks' and of course, the foster twins of Fawcett Central," I said as I dryly laughed.

"Sometimes, I admired and envy Freddy because even they bullied us, especially him, he stays positive," I said and he softly rubbed my back, comforting me.

"You know, you're just like him too, you comforted me last night and make me feel better," he said as I let out a chuckle.

"Better?" He asked, smiling. "Better," I answered as I smile back and we waited for Freddy, who's really taking so long.
