chapter twenty-two

AUDREY FREEMAN

It was weekend, Billy and I currently walking in the park, our hands intertwining. I explained to him and to others what happened and where do I get my powers. I would really expect them to be furious because I've never said anything to them but they understand. Freddy and Billy even fanboying to me even though they have superpowers like mine.

"So..." I trailed off.

"So..." He repeats.

I quickly pecked him on his lips as I run, "Catch me if you can, Batson!"

"You're on, Freeman!" He said and he runs after me.

I was laughing and running at the same time, so it's difficult and hard. I felt someone grab me by my waist and spin me around, "Billy!"

He tickles me, "Oh... my... gosh... stop... it... Billy...." I said in between my laughs.

He stopped tickling me and kiss my nose as I let out a giggle.

"I love you, Billy Batson."

"And I love you too, Audrey Freeman."

"Guys, all hands on a deck," Billy said and we all place our hands in the middle of the table. I smiled sweetly at him and he did the same.

"Thank you for this food, thank you for this day, thank you for this family. I thought, maybe this time, I'd stay." He let out a small laugh

"After all, I'm home."

Freddy, Billy, and I sat down on Billy's bed. "I really can't believe that my sister is a Wonder Woman," Freddy begins.

"Oh, here we go again," I mumbled as Billy and I chuckled.

Suddenly, Freddy handed me a Wonder Woman comic. "Read that," Freddy said.

"I already read that," I said.

He sighs, "Just... Just read again!"

I rolled my eyes, "Geez! Alright, alright."

I read the comic that Freddy gave to me and a paper slip out. I reached it and read what it says...

'AUDREY FREEMAN, WILL YOU BE THE WONDER WOMAN OF MY LIFE?'                                                      -Shazam!                               

I let out a chuckle as I looked at Billy and Freddy who are now looking at me. "Seriously? Wonder Woman?" 

Billy rubbed his hands on his back, "It was... Freddy's idea!"

"So... What's your answer?" He asked.

I pretend to think, "Hmmm..."

"Yes! Of course! But not Wonder Woman, alright?" I said as we laugh.

He pulled me closer and pressed his lips onto mine. 

"I love you, my Wonder Woman."

"I love you too, My hero."

"Gross!" Freddy said as he walked out of the room.

We looked at each other let out a small laugh.
