CHAPTER 2

EMILY'S POV

I woke up at nine in the morning. I went to bathroom. I brushed my teeth, and took a hot shower bath. I headed to my closet with only a towel wrapped around me. I took one of my sweatpants and a T-shirt on it. After getting dressed, I went to the kitchen to have some breakfast, when suddenly I heard a knock at my door. I sighed and glanced at the clock. It was 10:30. I walked towards the door and opened it to see Alyssa standing in front of me.

Alyssa and Kate are my best friends since I was in kinder garten. We are more like sisters, than friends.

"Hey, good morning, darling!" Alyssa greeted me moving inside. I closed the door behind her.

"Good morning, Lyssa!" I replied with a smile.

"Come on darling, get ready. We are leaving in twenty minutes."she told me in excitement.

"But where to?" I asked fully confused.

"For shopping. I have to go on a dinner with Lucas's family tomorrow. So I need something decent to wear. And so we are heading out for shopping."

Lucas was Allysa's boyfriend since two years.

"But I am very much hungry. I need to eat first."

"Come on, we will grab something to eat,for you on the way."

I looked at my watch. It was 3 pm now. We reached the mall almost two hours before, after grabbing a hot dog for me on the way. We have spent full three hours for selecting just one dress. And above that, Lyssa had been continuously speaking about the L-moments shared between her and Lucas. L-means love, which in my dictionary is a bad word and I rarely speak bad words. So L....

I was just bored now, and needed to go home. We were silently walking on the lobby of the mall, when suddenly Lyssa's phone rang. She glanced at the screen and noticed, it was Lucas's call. She excused herself for a minute. You know the secret talks of L-birds!!!! I rolled my eyes and waited there, when suddenly something caught my eyes. Inside the shop in front of me, was a beautiful diamond necklace. It was awesome. It was something, that I liked very much but I could not afford since it was too costly. I don't know how long I stared at it, when suddenly someone bumped into me.

"What the hell!" I shouted when I lost my balance and was about to fall. But suddenly, a strong pair of arms wound around my waist and steadied me. I looked up to see a very handsome man standing in front of me. His deep blue eyes caught mine. But I suddenly moved away from his grasp.

"Hey, how many are these?" I asked him moving my three fingers in front of his face.

"What?" He was confused now.

"Hey, I am just checking your eyesight. I thought you just lost it and so you bumped into me." I stated angrily.

"Excuse me miss! Let me just remind you that this is the passage for people to walk. Not for statues like you to just get fixed here and get lost in your day dreams imaging some fairy tale!" He replied angrily, waving off his hand in front of me.

This time I stared directly into his eyes, fully showing my frustration on him. He is such an arrogant jerk!! How dare he call me a statue?

We stared in each other's eyes angrily, no one willing to lose the game.

"What's happening here?" Lyssa came from behind. She looked at me and  then at the man. She noticed him from head to toe and her gaze fixed at him. She just stared at him, like he was some Greek God.

"Nothing much interesting!  Just an idiot lost his eyesight for a few seconds and bumped into me!" I snapped at her. I held her wrist, pulling her immediately, not waiting for the arrogant dick to even reply. I walked past him and two more people, who looked like his bodyguard. I didn't even care to look back at his expression.

We came outside of the mall, and immediately got into my car. I drove my car as fast as possible. I just needed to go home!
