When Ellie walked out of her house a week later she saw a letter in her mailbox.
Dear Ellie,
Today we are holding the Flower Dance. I hope to see you there! I delivered a dress to you. I hope you like it!

Dancing. She thought. That is definitely not my strong suit.
Ellie saw the dress right away. It was long and flowing. She quickly put it on and put her hair in a braid.

When she arrived at the Flower Dance she saw Alex.
"Hi!" she said walking up to him.
"Hi!" he said turning around.
When he turned around he let out an audible gasp, "You look beautiful Ellie."
She blushed.
"You look pretty good yourself." she said smiling at him.
"Do you want to be my dance partner?" he asked her sheepishly.
"Of course!" she said, "You're my best friend!"
"Oh." he said.

Alex's POV
So she only thinks of me as a friend. That figures. She looks amazing though. I can't help myself. All I want to do is kiss her. But I can't. Not if she only thinks of me as a friend.
That can't get in the way though. I will just dance with her. Act completely normal. I'm not in love with her. Just enjoy the moment.

Ellie's POV
While they were dancing Ellie had a thought.
"Alex, did I ever tell you that you are the best thing that's happened to me in a long time?" she asked.
"No, but I do know that you are the most amazing person that I have ever set my eyes on." he responded, grinning.
She smiled back at him and hugged him.
Alex sucked held his breath and mustered his courage.
"Ellie?" he said timidly.
"Yes?" she said, smiling up at him.
"Will you go out with me?"
Ellie stopped dead.
"Did I do something wrong?" he asked, worriedly, the small amount of courage he had fading.
"No silly." she said, smiling growing even bigger now, "Of course I'll go out with you! There's just one problem, where would we go?"
"How about your house?" he asked, his courage quickly returning. "That way we won't have my grandparents barging in on us."
"Sure!" she said "I'll make us dinner and then we could watch a movie or something?"
"That sounds great!" he responded ecstatically.
"So, tomorrow night at 7 o'clock?" she asked.
"It's a date."
