It’s been around a week since your family died, it all felt so numb to you. You were sat inside a room, laying on the small bed. You’ve learned that the man who saved you was named Giyuu Tomioka. He didn’t really say anything to you though, he just stared. The only other people you’ve met so far were maids, or servants.

Were you being kidnapped again? It doesn’t matter, it’s not like you can just go, you couldn’t even save your family, even though they were a few feet away from you.

Giyuu did say that his master wanted to see you, yet they still haven’t come. Who is this master? What if they’re really bad people? Are you going to die?

Negative thoughts kept running through your mind until the room door opened. “(Y/N) (L/N), correct?” a servant asked.

You just nodded, your voice still hurt from all of the screaming and crying. “Come, Oyakata would like to see you,” she walked out. You hesitantly got up, and followed after her. So what if you died? You’ll just see Keiji and mother again, right?

You followed the lady into a giant room, a man with short black hair sitting down on a mat. He seemed as if he were blind. The woman quickly bowed, excusing herself. You just stood there, staring at him. What do you do? Should you also bow?

He patted the mat in front of him, maybe he wants you to sit? Is he a demon?! No, no, that’s just rude, don’t think that.

You hurried and sat across from him, trying your best to not make eye contact with him. “(L/N) (Y/N), I’m so sorry for your loss, and deeply apologize for what happened. You must be scared, and confused, I’m sorry for the long wait for me,” he spoke. Something about his voice felt nice, maybe he wasn’t bad. “If you would take some time out of your day for me to explain what went on, that would be appreciated, if not, you can wait in the other room, I’ll have you sent to a nice welcoming family, and you’ll have your time to mourn.” He finished.

You want to know what went on, you don’t want to go to a new family. You don’t want a new family. Do you tell him that? You didn’t realize that you were taking forever to respond.

“I’m..I’m sorry..!” why couldn’t you say what you wanted to say? He gave you a warm smile.

“It’s alright, take your time, I’ll wait. I was the one who rudely summoned you, yes?” You stared up at him with tears in your eyes, threatening to fall down your face once again.

He placed his hand on your cheek, wiping the spilled tears off. You barely know him, yet you feel like you can completely trust him.

“Please, please explain to me what’s happening..!” you pleaded, your heart slowing down a little.

“Alright then, I’ll explain everything to you.”

Within a few hours, demons came to your knowledge. Oyakata had told you all about them, and about the demon hunters who broke some of the rules, waiting for innocents to get hurt, then to attack the demon, just so if one turned into a demon, it’ll make double the kill.
