Luke had been bullying Lydia since she was in 1st grade. Their fathers had been best friends. They would be forced to spend infinite hours together. They absolutely hated it. Luke was extremely stubborn and Lydia was shy. She was the perfect target for him.
Especially after her father was gone he would mess with her. She was small and short. She had dark hair and vibrant eyes. She was quiet and people would only speak to her to show their pity and sympathy. He would bully her continuously. He had secrets too, though, and he felt this was the only way to save himself.
Luke's father was unfaithful to his mother and would spend long periods of time away from home. Every night when he went to bed, the torturous sound of bickering would begin. They tried to stay quiet for Luke's sake, but he always heard.
The bellowing voice of his dad, the high pitched screech of his mothers sorrowful voice, and the claims that they despised each other. Luke would spend his night silently sobbing and wishing he could scream at the top of his lungs.
