"Have you guys talked about the details, yet?"
"No, not yet. We can't even decide on how to go about it."
Saya and Kaana were currently drinking some tea at Saya's kotatsu table in her living room. Daichi was asleep in his baby carrier. Two months had passed since Garou asked her to marry him, and still, they couldn't come to any decision about it.
"Well, why not just go to City Hall and get your marriage certificate that way?" Saya suggested, "That's what Saitama and I did."
"That's the issue: Garou just wants to sign the papers and be done with it, but...I want to have an actual ceremony," Kaana admitted, "Even Bang offered to arrange everything, but Garou is having none of it. I don't want to force him into anything out of his comfort zone, but there's no compromising with him. He said there's no way in hell he's going to put himself in a suit. I don't know how to convince him to listen."

Saya cupped her chin in thought, "Honestly, I'm not that surprised. He's not really known for his social etiquette, you know that. Doing something like a wedding ceremony is the equivalent of trying to put a caveman in front of a computer. It would only make him uncomfortable."
Kaana hung her head in exasperation, "I guess, you're right, but...this is the only thing I've ever truly asked of him. Even if we can come to a compromise, I'd be fine with that, but he doesn't. It has to be his way."
"Maybe you should talk to him. Try to find out why he doesn't want a wedding."
"Trust me, there's nothing complicated about that question. He doesn't have any blood family, aside from me and Daichi, technically. Given his past, I'm not surprised that he's ashamed of that fact and where he came from. I think a full blown wedding would only remind him of that. I understand that, but I wish he could just talk to me and we can at least come to an agreement...but, no," Kaana crossed her arms on the table.
Saya frowned at her little sister, feeling sympathetic to her situation. She wasn't entirely sure how to help Kaana since this was a personal issue. To Saya, Garou was still an enigma. Her attempts to make conversation with him never seemed to catch on. The only real conversation they've had was when Kaana told her about the pregnancy. Granted, there was the monthly visits to the dojo when he was still in the program, but she only ever spoken to Bang to get a report.
Before Saya can voice her opinion, Daichi started to fuss in his carrier.
Kaana was quick to lift her son up and adjust her shirt. As soon as she freed her right breast, Daichi latched on and suckled greedily.
Saya watched as her little sister fed her child with professional ease, she smiled as the sight, "You're a natural, Kaana. Took me a bit to figure out what Kenji would be crying for when he was a baby."
Kaana gave a light scoff, watching her baby suckle, "There's really no guessing with Daichi. He's got an appetite that'll even put Garou to shame. All Daichi mostly does is eat. I'm just happy my body's able to keep up with him."
Saya couldn't help but giggle, "I understand that. Kenji was a fast eater, but ate a lot. Still is, actually, but only when he's excited about something and gets impatient."
"I hope to resolve this with Garou, soon. If only he'll just listen and talk to me," Kaana heaved a heavy sigh, the disappointment and sadness evident in her eyes, "I want to be able to call him my husband, but I also want this moment in our lives to be memorable. Like Mom and Dad did."
Saya can see that Kaana was torn about the issue. She remembered when Saitama and herself had a similar argument. Saitama was willing to compromise, being that neither of them wanted a fancy wedding. This was different since Garou wanted their certificate with no Civil Ceremony. Kaana was willing to compromise, but Garou wasn't hearing her anymore on the issue. He wanted this his way. A horrible stalemate, that'll only end in disaster.
"Then, tell him how this makes you feel. I doubt he'll ever want to upset you, he just doesn't realize he's doing it," Saya gave a last ditch effort at advice.
Kaana was silent, giving the suggestion some thought. Perhaps, if she told him how this made her feel, then hopefully he'd be willing to compromise. A Civil Ceremony, at least. He wouldn't have to wear a suit, but it'll still be special.
"I'll give it a try," Kaana decided.

Kaana and Daichi stayed at the house, Saya making dinner this time around while the redhead played with Kenji. Saya was just finishing dinner while Saitama was out. Kaana was sitting at the table with Kenji and Daichi in his carrier.
The atmosphere was joyful and relaxed when there was a knock as the door. Saya heard it, wiped her hands off and went to answer it. Kaana immediately tensed, knowing exactly who it was. When Saya opened the door, there Garou stood.
"Hey, Garou," Saya gave a smile, "Why don't you come in, we're about to have dinner? We just have to wait for Saitama."
Garou gave a grunt and stepped inside, Saya shutting the door behind him. Kaana saw Garou walking in from the walkway and instantly averted her gaze, her anger and dejection coming back at the mere sight of him. Garou saw her turn away, but said nothing, knowing why Kaana was refusing to speak to him.
Saya took notice to this behavior while getting the food ready, furrowing her brow at this stupid feud these two were having. This was supposed to be a happy time in their lives and they couldn't decide on how to go about getting married? If only they can come to a compromise, then maybe they can put an end to this issue.
Saya sighed to herself, 'Looks like I'll have to solve this.'
The brunette pulled away from the counter, wiping her hands yet again, "Garou."
Garou, who was about to take a seat, halted and looked towards the hero, "Can I have a word with you? Alone?"
Now, hearing this request, the man didn't know whether to feel annoyed, confused or nervous. Without saying a word, Garou stood back up and waited for Saya as she started to walk towards him.
"Outside," Saya pointed at the sliding doors, her other hand on her hip. Garou didn't like her display, feeling as though he was being chastised. Nonetheless, not wanting to make a scene front of two children, he turned and made his way to the glass door, grudgingly throwing it open with Saya close behind.
Kaana watched, slightly perplexed as her sister gave her a knowing glance over her shoulder before shutting the door behind her.
"Is Uncle in trouble?" Kenji asked Kaana, wondering why his mother was taking Garou outside.
Kaana watched their moving figures from her seat, "Don't know."
