Chapter 16

(Chase P.O.V)

Sometimes when a person is alone at night their mind can drive them insane; because most of the time your mind is filled with thoughts of bad things instead of good. They float around in your brain taunting you, reminding you of a past you would rather forget.

Reminding you of the hand striking your body. Leaving bruises you have to hide and excuses you have to make up. Blaming sports and 'accidents' that happened on a daily basis. Reminding of every apology you believed and every ray of hope you had and having it all taken away in one day. Every thought is filled with a mothers cry of 'stop' or 'please' or 'leave' but nothing ever worked. The glass still shatters againist the floor and the snores are still heard throughout the house hours later and the mother and her son were left to clean up the mess. The mother kissed her sons bruising cheek and sent him to bed with promises of a better life in the future.

The son went to bed with those promises and soom stopped believing them. Later he went to bed angry. Angry at his mother and his father and at everyone. He never understood how the mother and father he loved so much could change so drastically it seemed over night. How their life became so messed up. He also thought it was bound to happen.

He thought somewhere deep down in his father that problem lurked within him waiting to be unleashed. That maybe somewhere deep down in people their own problem lurked and that it was their choice if they let it loose. Whether it was drinking, drugs, smoking, cutting, or emotional problems. If they let it loose they had to have the strength to confront their problems and get the help they need to fix it.

Because everyone has a person in their life that wants to help them; they just have to have the strength to admit that they need the help and want to get help.

The son's father won't admit that he needs help and neither will the mother. The son loves them both but he can't help them anymore than they can help themselves.

The son had the strength to admit that he needed help with his emotional anger problems and helped himself. He fixed it and he became a brand new person who now has a chance to love someone who he has loved for a long time. He finally has a chance to grab his light at the end of the tunnel that use to seem so far away.

He wasn't going to let that go.
