The cold seeped through my mesh top and bare legs as I followed the guy I didn't know.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Somewhere more fun." He assured me. I looked up at the L train that stretched overhead as he pulled me to the stairs to get on it.

"I'm not leaving the city with you." I told him and he smiled.

"We're not leaving the city."

We stood on the empty platform waiting for the train, and I shivered next to him. He shrugged off his leather jacket and motioned for me to hold my arms out.

"Oh, no I can't take it from you."

"Clara, it's fine. I'm not going to let you freeze, not when I dragged you out here." He gave me a stern look and I slid my arms into the jacket. I welcomed its warmth, and I murmured a thank you. It was much too big for me, the sleeves going past my hands and leaving enough space for two of me inside it.

"Here" Kells' hand returned to my back as he led me onto the train, the few people who rode the L at night looking almost as sketchy as him. It suddenly hit me that I was on the train with this seemingly dangerous guy that I didn't know, heading to an unknown destination.

"Kells?" I asked, catching his attention.

"Yeah?"

"Please don't murder me." I looked up at him and amusement flashed across his eyes, replacing the hard look that he had warned off anyone from coming near us with.

"You don't need to worry about that, pretty girl." He pulled me a little closer, his hand still on my back protectively. We rode the train in silence and I watched the city lights flicker by. We got off at a downtown stop and he offered his hand again. I held it as we walked through the streets, trying not to think about how reckless I was being. He led me to a high rise building, and he stuck a card in the door, a green light giving us access.

"Did you steal that?" I asked him and he just smirked.

"We could get arrested for trespassing." I stressed and Kells rolled his eyes.

"Relax. It's going to be fine." He said, tugging me over to an elevator. We got in and he pressed the 110the floor button, making my stomach spin. I closed my eyes as we flew up, thankful he hadn't yet let go of my hand. I squeezed his a little tighter, and he rubbed his thumb over my knuckles, sensing my fear.

We exited the elevator and he led me up a flight of stairs onto the roof of the tallest building in Chicago.

"This is my favorite view." He told me, and when I looked off the edge of the building, I understood what he was talking about. I could see for miles, the lights of the city that I was so used to staring up at, glittered under me. The Ferris wheel at navy pier sparkled off of the water, bouncing light up into the ink-black sky.

"It's incredible." I breathed, my fear of heights falling away as I was awestruck. I walked to the edge, standing on the ledge and looking out over the city. I turned and saw Kells taking a photo of me with his phone, and I posed teasingly, laughing as I was awarded with his sexy, amused smirk.

"Okay, climb off there now. I don't want you to fall on my watch." He said, and I giggled. He reached up and held my waist, lifting me back down easily.

"Thanks. Can you send me the pictures?" I asked him, and he nodded, handing me his phone. I typed in my number before handing it back. He pressed a few buttons and I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket.

We sat on the roof for quite a while, smoking a joint he had.

"Shouldn't you go back to your party? All those people are at your house without you there." I asked.
