"Wait, so he just said those hateful things to you then Kells kicked him out?" Gwen asked me as I slammed back my third vodka drink.
"Yes." I nodded and Reagan agreed that it was bad.
"Damn, you should've got me. I would have beat his ass." Kian said, and Aylo agreed.
"I don't understand, he's one of my best friends." I sighed.
"Maybe he's jealous." Gwen stated and I looked at her.
"Jealous?"
"Of you and Kells." Kian clarified.
"That doesn't make sense." I muttered and the girls looked at each other.
"We're going to sit by the fire. Why don't you join?" Rook came up, and held Gwen's waist, pulling her gently with him. She giggled and we walked outside. I looked for a place to sit, and Kells' hand found my back.
"There you are." I said and he nodded, taking a seat and pulling me to sit on his lap. Music was playing and the party had calmed down some.
"You're shaking." Kells murmured, removing his arm from my waist. I hadn't noticed, but I realized he was right, and I mumbled an apology.
"Here" he shrugged out of his jacket and helped me into it, and I felt bad until I saw he had a hoodie on under the leather he had given me. The alcohol kept me from freaking out about being on his lap, and I was content as we sat and chatted with Dom and some other guys I didn't know. I had my arm slung loosely around Kells' neck, but he had a firm grip around my waist, securing me on him.
"This'll warm you up some." Kells said to me, lighting a joint and taking a couple hits before handing it to me.
"I'll be wasted if I smoke this." I said, finishing my fifth drink, and already quite tipsy.
"That's alright, I'll protect you." He said, and that was all the assurance I needed. I inhaled the warm smoke, feeling my senses cloud even more.
I started to feel very sleepy as I watched the fire crackle. The voices slowly faded to incoherent sounds, mixing with the music. I saw Rook get up and walk inside with Gwen, who winked at me before vanishing.
"We're going to head home, Clara. Are you alright here?" Reagan asked.
"Yeah, I'm good." I promised her.
"Lovely to meet you, Kells." Reagan said sweetly, touching his arm. He said goodbye to her, and Kian and Aylo waved before leaving together.
"Hey, sleepy girl. You alright?" Kells asked me as I laid my heavy head on his shoulder.
"Yeah, Kells." I mumbled and he rested his head on mine and continued to laugh and talk with his friends.
"Can you get me another peach vodka?" I asked Dom, grabbing his wrist as he walked by. I felt like we were moving in slow motion, and he stopped, leaning down.
"She's had enough, Dom." Kells said, and I pushed his chest weakly.
"I can take another." I argued, trying to struggle out of his arms.
"Relax, Clara. I'll get you a drink, you stay with Kells." Dom laughed lightly, and Kells arm stayed tight around my waist.
"Pleasantly drunk, are we?" Slim asked me, sitting down with us.
"Nooo..." I mumbled and he smiled. I laid my head back down under Kells' chin.
"I don't like this party so much." I said.
