We decided on an action movie that I wasn't too interested in. If it were just the girls, we would have been watching a romance, but the boys insisted on something more exciting. I was happy to spend some time with my friends that didn't involve fighting or judgment or being interrogated.

-movie just finished- I messaged Kells as I walked out of the theater. I went to the bathroom and talked to Reagan, Aylo, and Gwen at the sinks about plans to have a sleepover later in the week. We went back out to join the boys, who were arguing about the movie.

"Want a lift home?" Gwen asked, catching my elbow.

"It's okay." I shook my head.

"Are you walking? We're like three miles away from your place." Skye asked. My phone buzzed and I looked at it before answering.

-I'm outside. Black SUV- kells

"No, Kells is here. We're gonna get dinner. I'll see you in class tomorrow. We'll plan on a day to have a sleepover, I'll be there." I promised Gwen, hugging her before running out the doors into the night air. Kells was parked at the curb in his SUV, and I walked up, tapping on the door. He smiled and I climbed into the passenger seat.

"How was your movie?" Kells asked me as he pulled out of the lot.

"It was fine, not my speed really. The others enjoyed it."

"What'd you see?"

"Avengers. I prefer romance or horror." I told him, making him smirk.

"Those are two totally different things. You cool with Italian for dinner?" He asked and I nodded.

"That sounds great. How do you know my friend Wes?"

"Wes works for me. He's kind of a dick, I didn't realize you were friends." Kells answered, looking over at me as we stopped at a red light.

"He's in my friend group. Wes is really close with the other two boys. He isn't that nice to me, but he'll be chill sometimes."

We pulled up to an Italian restaurant, and I felt undressed in my jeans and black t-shirt. Kells was dressed similarly, which put me at ease, but we still got disapproving looks from other customers who were in suits and dresses.

"You look nice." Kells said, clearly sensing my discomfort.

"Thanks." I blushed, looking down at my adidas sneakers. We were led to a table in the back, and Kells ordered wine to start, along with an appetizer he convinced me was great.

"You gotta stay sober, you're my ride." I teased lightly.

"I promise." He laughed, pouring me a generous glass.

"Trying to get me drunk?" I took a sip and he shook his head, unable to hide the amusement on his face. I looked over the menu, overwhelmed by the amount of choices I was offered.

"What's good here?"

"Everything." He smirked.

"That doesn't help me."

"Get whatever you want, it's on me." He said and I set the menu down.

"No, definitely not." I laughed.

"I'm paying, that's final. Try their angel pasta." He suggested and I nodded, telling the waiter who was dropping off our appetizer.

"It's so good." Kells pushed the plate toward me and I took one.

We drank our wine and I happily listened to Kells talk about stories of him and his friends.

"How was school today?" Kells asked me as we ordered dessert upon his insistence.
