Clara:

"Come shopping with me?" I asked Rainn, who was curled up in a chair, on her phone.

"Sure." She smiled, and got up with me.

"You're taking my girlfriend?" Dom asked me and I nodded.

"I'll bring her back."

"Not sure about that after the club-" Kells started.

"Stop!" I whined, embarrassed by my alcohol-induced behavior.

"Let's just go." I told Rainn. She nodded and I got my keys to the Audi that Kells had bought me. I drove us to a huge mall, and we got coffees as we shopped.

"Oh, I want to go to the bookstore. Is that okay?" Rainn asked.

"Of course. Dom told me you liked to read."

"I do. I need another book." She said. I followed her to shelves of urban fantasy, and she ran her fingertips over the colorful spines. Her eyes looked far away, and she startled me by pulling a book off of the shelf.

"This one." She held up a purple novel embossed with silver. I nodded and she bought it. We went in and out of shops, and I bought a new blanket for my bed and some candles. I also got sheets that weren't so heavy once the weather warmed up a bit. The temperature was already climbing and the snow had melted off of most of the city. We ended up shopping for several hours, and finally my feet started to hurt. We drove home, and Rainn went to show Dom what she got. Kells helped me carry the bags upstairs, and I put the things away.

"Are you alright?" He asked me as I sat down on the bed.

"I'm tired. Super out of breath. I don't know what's wrong with me." I admitted and he frowned.

"You look pale." His voice was concerned and I rubbed my eyes.

"I just want to lay down, I think."

"It's not even eight yet."

"I don't feel well." I told him and he nodded, helping me get under the covers. He sat down on the couch in our room, headphones in his ears and focused on his laptop. I felt nauseous and drowsy, and I let sleep pull me under.

When I woke up the next morning, my stomach twisted. I got up and ran into the bathroom, kneeling on the floor and throwing up.

"Baby." Kells held my hair back and I threw up again, holding onto my knees.

"I'll take you to the clinic." He said and I shook my head.

"No. Bed." I murmured and he sighed. He didn't argue, and he helped me clean up before carrying me back to bed. As the day went on I felt better, but that night I was throwing up again, and the next morning.

"You're going to the doctor." Kells said.

"No, I'm not. Go to work. I'll be fine, baby, it's just a stomach bug." I said, pulling the blanket tighter around myself in bed.

"Clara, I can stay home to take care of you."

"Do you want Diablo banging down our door while I'm unable to run?" I asked him and he sighed.

"It's okay, Kells. Gwen and Rainn are here." I assured him. He nodded, and grabbed his jacket and keys, kissing my forehead.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you most." I squeezed his hand before watching him go.

"How have you been handling Skye's death?" Gwen asked me later that morning, sitting in my bed.
