❦ Chapter Thirteen ~ No way José! ❦The three of them went back to the dining room where everyone is waiting. Heaven slowly walked closer to the poker faced King. She used the time to examine his features. He has a strong set of jaw, defined nose, black hair, and black eyes that seems to stare straight through her soul. She wondered then if he's capable of that.
She stopped in front of her, the others forgotten as she stared right into his tamed aura. Noticing how in control he is of his emotions.
At first, she wanted to apologize, but now, she contemplated whether she should. It's not like she did anything wrong. She just ran and humans seem to do that all the time.
Heaven finally remembered that they have company and glanced at them. They all have encouraging looks on their faces, especially Nadia and Vic.
'I thought you wanted to apologize to him.' Vic sent to her thoughts as she and Nadia formed a connection in their link.
'You were so concerned a while ago when you found out Vic shoved him with a bit of power. And now you're just standing there, staring at him.' Nadia said.
'Though we can't really blame you, he's one fine piece of meat right there.' Vic antagonized.
'He really is.' Heaven thought back to them before cutting the connection. They probably looked like idiots staring at each other's eyes like that.
"Do you want to speak with me privately?" King Zeke asked his newly found mate as he stood up when he realized she doesn't plan to speak anytime soon.
"Yes please." She answered, almost shyly as she peered at him secretly.
He led the way outside and she followed silently after giving her family a nervous look.
'Good luck, Heav.' the others thought out to her.
'Please kiss and tell! I mean that literally.' Vic wished.
They entered a room and she glanced around as she noticed a desk and the room filled with different type of books.
Being a bookworm, she navigated her way to the books in a dazed, running her fingers over the spines as she scanned the titles. She paused when she caught the word Hybrid in one of the books. Finally realizing the reason she's in the room.
Turning around to the man that caused her soul to go crazy, she stared again as his eyes pierced through her for the third time that day.
"I apologize for running away." She said in a monotone voice. Not sounding the least bit sincere.
"Do you, really?" he asked not moving away from the door as he blocked it.
He thinks I'm going to run away again using the door. As if I can't use my teleportation skills. Heaven thought as she snickered on her mind.
"You don't have to block the door; I'm not running in these heels again." She assured him.
He didn't do anything at first. He just stood there and analyzed her every move then he walked as he went close to her again.
He's so hot I feel like freezing him. She thought. I'll turn him into an ice cream and then I'll lick him. Hmm.
He took her right hand, the one with the masking ring. Looking up at her while he twirled the ring with his thumb.
"This is a scent masking ring. Why are you wearing one?" he asked making her nervous as she thought of an excuse.
"They said that some humans blood are really sweet for some reason." She slowly spoke.
