❦ Chapter One ~ A proposition or a command? ❦The Queen of Mítica stood on the castle's balcony, watching the busy air outside as faes run around doing their work. Heaven's hair rustled as a wind blew by; she looked down and saw a young fae playing with her element, waving at her. She waved back and sent a rose in her hand. Hearing the flaps of wings getting near her, she turned around and smiled as a greeting to her lady in waiting.
"My queen, the other rulers of Mítica have arrived. I've already sent them to the meeting room to wait for you." Azure said her bright blue eyes and ash brown hair gleaming with respect.
"Zhéq y, Azure. Come now and join us." the queen thanked her. They both went on their way to the east part of the castle, where her friends await.
She found them all seated in their respective places as they talked about the reason they were gathered today. Upon seeing her, they all smiled in greeting. The queen hating too much formality to even bother letting them curtsy or bow down.
"Heaven," Acacia exclaimed excitedly. The current queen of Reina de la Tierra stood up and went over to her as she rubbed their cheeks together.
"What do you think this meeting is for?" she asked with a frown.
"Az oam nwaret iskter. The former guardian leaders did not say anything specific. The letter only said that they would like to meet us all together to discuss an important opinion regarding our lives." Heaven stated, showing her confusion on the subject.
The Queen of Merworld also stood up and went over the window.
"I guess we will find out soon. They are here. They might have just missed us dearly. We are still their daughters after all." Aqualia, the twin sister of Heaven announced as she saw their parents exit the portal.
"We can ask them ourselves then," Tornado claimed, and the others agreed.
Soon enough, the former leaders announced themselves and they all took their seats. They looked over the current leaders with a proud glint in their eyes.
"We gathered all of you here for a proposition. Please do not interrupt until we finish, for you may all say what is on your mind afterwards." The former king said, and everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
"We would like you all to come down on Earth," he paused as all of them exclaimed a variety of whats. "ujoret!?; gordsva amé? Huh?" he gave all of them a look as a reminder of their recent deal.
"Anyways, we just thought that you all deserve a break since most of you have been training to become leaders of your kingdom ever since you were born. And so... we decided to talk with King Zeke and King Uriel if they'll allow all of you to come down to Earth. You're gonna stay at Monarch Academy to study whatever you want. We've also already arranged a house for all of you." He elaborated with excitement and the current leaders just stared at him impatiently.
"Hold on a moment," Nadia started her palms signalling the former king to stop,
"I do not think that is a proposition! That is a command that you do not have any authority to give us, no offence. What kind of proposition is that if you have already concluded that we will agree based on the arrangements you have made for us!"
Most of them are now on their feet and wings, pacing around to keep their tempers inside.
"Not to mention, we have already studied before. We also have our own Academy for goodness sake!" Victoria all but screamed as her temper rose, her hand automatically winding to her swords as if preparing to lash out on them.
"Yes, I know that. But do you have humans here? No, you don't. Besides, we just wanted you to interact with the other supernaturals, I mean who knows, and maybe some of you might meet your destinies in there. Although rest assured that they don't know that this world exists."
"And how is that going to work out exactly? Father, we have lived for centuries. Do you not think that we are way off age to go down on Earth, and what? Pretend that we are humans? I think that is what you are trying to say by them not knowing about this world."
Exasperated, Heaven flew over on the window to try and calm down. The word destiny stirred something in her heart. And she does not like that. She's been alive for three centuries, most of them have, more or less. They are used to this world. What would they do in a strange world, doing..., well, she does not know what happens on Earth.
"That is exactly the reason we're doing this, darling. You have lived a long time in this world. Why not try to go out and live in OUR world, where you were born. Where most of you have not stepped into for a long time, do you even know what it looks like now? How much that world is amazingly beautiful in its own way even if we don't have the elementals help to take care of it? This world, a mere myth to the creatures of Earth, is the only help we could ask for." He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"We just want you to see what's out there. Is that too much to ask? Mítica has been invisible for a long time now. Don't you think it's time for them to know? It would be your decision whether you will open the gates for them one day. But Earth is so much more like this place than you realize. It has its own wonders too! Think about it. Your people are happy, living a common life. Maybe it's time you get a taste of that"
The former king slumped on his chair. His energy seems to drain as his age showed on his face, the former queen rubbing his shoulders to show her support.
The current leaders stayed silent as they watched him. Their thoughts are all over the place due to the strong emotion that the former king showed in his declaration. They feel like there is more on his declaration. That they are not simply asking for them to have a life, and at the same time, they feel like he actually wanted them to feel what it's like to have one outside the boundaries of this world. For even though they have lived for more or less a century, the time on Mítica does not run at the same time on Earth. For they are way ahead on them on time, their world running five times faster than on Earth.
Seraphina looked at them all, contemplation of what to say. Even though she is partly against going to Earth, she would still like for her children to experience this kind of freedom.
"Even if we agree to do what you want, who will stand leader on our stead? It would be too much for our second rankers to handle. And how long do you want us to stay on Earth?" she started, a fierce Queen who hates being told what to do, whose fire always crackle when being ordered, is agreeing to the said proposition of the former king, which is enough for the others to show their surprise.
"You agree with him?" Breeze asks calmly.
"Don't you? We've lived here for a while, a lot of our people still see us with doubt in their eyes, waiting for us to make a big mistake. Also, I would like my children to have a little bit of freedom from this. Are you not excited about that? Being a commoner is not always bad, I for one, have never experience that kind of freedom." She answered, passion running in her voice.
"I think, I would also agree. So long as there will be a worth it leader that will stand on our stead and take good care of our realms." Acacia said softly. The remaining leaders looked at each other and breathed deeply before agreeing, this caused the former king and queen to suddenly clap, bright smiles painted on their faces.
"We have just the right solution for that." they both said in unison as the energy shifted around them.
