❦ Chapter Fifteen ~ A Key to their world ❦
After their wounds got treated with the help of the witches' magic, the two went back to the Arena to watch the rest of the duels before their one-on-ones with the vampires.
"Your dear beloved keeps staring at you." Vic whispered to Heaven as they watched the second round of the duels.
"Let him see my beauty then." Heaven whispered back cheekily.
"Woah girl! Where did that smugness come from?" Vic teased, her voice hushed making Heaven chuckle.
"I'm just teasing him. He can hear us from here, you know?" she told her in her normal voice.
"So my whispering was useless then?" she asked a bit in distaste.
"Yup." Heaven said, Vic sighed dramatically.
"All those effort and it's all for nothing?!" she exclaimed as she sagged on her seat.
Heaven just laughed at her friend's antics as the two continued watching the fights.
After a few moments, it was already her turn to fight the one-on-one with a vampire.
Her opponent is someone named Autumn, and she's someone she recalled to have a gift.
"Next up is Heaven Arcanis VS Autumn González." The announcer said as the two fighters went up to the ring.
"I just want to clear one thing. Autumn, you are not allowed to use your gift at all cost. Understood?" the coach inside the ring clarified and the vampire nodded.
'She looks so sweet and innocent!' Vic gushed in her mind and she agreed mentally.
The girl seems to be of a different race, physically speaking. Her skin is naturally tan and her brown eyes and hair are such a refreshing look.
Once the whistle went off, the girl's innocent look instantly changed to a fierce one as she zipped to Heaven with her spear, ready to strike, a strike that Heaven easily dodge as she made a move of her own.
Heaven fought back using her swords with speed as she tried to match the girl's movement. Fighting with a vampire is something completely out of her book. Their speed is just not something she knows how to parry.
She knows she needs to pull her card out now. Her other weapon is more suitable in this fight rather than the one she is currently using.
Thinking quickly, Heaven made a dirty move by bending and striking the girl to draw blood on her arm. She somersaulted away from the vampire and attached both hilts of her swords as it locked into place with her magic, creating a double-bladed sword.
The vampire's jaw dropped at the revelation from her sword. Her move is considered legal as the rules never mentioned anything about the weapon changing WHILE fighting. They've never really anticipated such thing from her.
Heaven spun her weapon as she attacked the girl. The girl shook out of the dazed she was previously in and defended herself.
Her new weapon allowed her to move faster and counter the relentless attacks of the vampire. Even then, Heaven got slashed deeply on her arm.
She decided to try a risky move that will knock out the girl's weapon, along with hers. She spun the sword swiftly over the spear. It sent the weapon flying on the furthest end of the ring as hers landed a few feet away from her. She got pushed back a bit as Autumn went to grabbed her weapon.
