The aftermath

After resting, Amber took a bath and came out after. She's still breathing hard while clenching her eyes. She chuckled playfully while looking at the girls and drying her hair with the towel. She dropped herself beside Krystal on the couch.

"I brought this just in case." Jessica said and put the small cooler on the mini table inside the house.

Amber closes her eyes because she can already smell the scent of fresh cold treats.

"Amber, have one. It will help you." Jessica said while giving tumblers to the others.

Amber giggled and grabbed a tumbler. She didn't wait any seconds and drinks. She exhales sharply when she felt the liquid through her throat. Then her eyes brighten again.

"Can you turn your eyes black or it really stays like that?" Yerin mutters while looking at the three.

"It stays." Jessica chuckled.

"We didn't have to wear contact lenses here." she added.

"Even the Lord's eyes stay." Amber chuckled. The girls did so too while looking at Sowon.

"So?" Umji said while looking at them.

"So.. what, Umji-yah?"

"Does my training ends here?" the youngest chuckled.

"What you wanted is to know your limit.. and you already did."

"I think, I haven't yet." Umji scratches her jaw.

"What?"

"I haven't used all of my strength yet."

"Because if you did, you could kill us." Jessica said and chuckled.

"Heol! She's really that strong now." Eunha mumbled.

"Yeah.. even under Sinb's shield." Yuju said while pointing at Sinb.

"She can use and control her core fully now."

"My nose really bled this time. I didn't expect that I'd reached my limit too." Yerin mutters.

"That's just one element, Yerin-ah.." Sowon chuckled.

"Gosh.. yeah.."

The girls continued their chats until the three decided to go. Umji thanked them for helping her again. They hugged her and bid their goodbyes.

Few days have passed, the girls are all in the living room. Flustered with whom visited them and the least they've actually expected.

"So, he didn't give you his blessing?" Yerin frowns.

"Y-Yes.. he said, he can't a-accept it.. that his d-daughter would m-marry someone with the same blood who killed his wife." Sungjae said with shaky voice and his head is bent low.

"Why are you here then?" Yerin asked again. Yuju glanced at her once and then turned to Sungjae again.

"To ask f-for help."

"If he said, no.. then it's a no." Yerin said firmly.

Yuju's brow twitches when she heard what Yerin just said. She looked at Sungjae and the boy clenched his eyes tight while nodding slowly.

"Can I.. talk to you for a sec?" Yuju mutters while looking at her wife.

Yerin didn't have the chance to object because Yuju pulled her outside already.

"What is wrong with you?" Yuju started.

"What?"

"Okay. I know Sooyoung unnie is your friend.— Yeah.. she is."
