HAZAKURA TEMPLE
DUSKY BRIDGE
To say that I've never investigated without Miles is a lie, but this is the first time I've purposely made the decision to not bring him. (1) Considering his condition and the possibility that the Phantom seeks to take his life, I couldn't take the risk in putting Miles in danger. Right now, he needs to focus on healing. I'm certain Gregory wishes to take the day off to spend time with him. For now, I will continue the investigation from my side. Hopefully, with the Inner Temple open, I may find new clues to who cut off the bridge.
There was a police helicopter near the bridge. It landed, the propeller slowly coming to a stop, before the Pilot stepped out. The Pilot extended his hand, helping the young woman out, whom he rescued. To my utter surprise, it wasn't Dahlia, but someone I knew very well.
"Ms. Mia Fey?" I asked, my eyebrows rising.
"Good morning, Mr. Von Karma. Thank you for the rescue," Mia replied. She was the daughter of Misty Fey, a good friend of Gregory's and a closer friend to his deceased girlfriend, Rachael Newslayday. Mia has become very good friends with Miles and grew to becoming an impressive Prosecutor. From what I've heard from Miles, Mia had chosen this path to avoid family competition of becoming the next Master in her village.
"You were the young lady at the Inner Temple? What were you doing over there?" I asked.
"I was given the task of training Sister Iris as the future Master of the Kurain Village. Unfortunately, some drama occurred and my little sister has gone missing."
"Your sister?"
"Maya. She was supposed to meet with me after dinner, but she never came," Mia explained, worry in her tone. "I waited, even searched for her on this side once the bridge broke off, but I never found her and no one else from the temple has seen her since dinner."
"I see. You say some drama occurred, resulting in being stranded at the Inner Temple. Does that mean that you witnessed the events that took place on the bridge when it broke?"
"I am. As I said, I was waiting for Maya..."

"At the time, I was waiting in the middle of the bridge. I noticed Miles was with Dahlia at the end of the bridge. I was close enough to hear them. Dahlia wanted to show Miles something, but never specified. She often does that. I'm not sure why and I never questioned it. I know how Miles is about people prying. Those two have been around here dozens of times. Anyways, Miles found something on the bridge."
"Say, Dahlia, look what I found," Miles said, kneeling down to inspect the base of the pole that was supposed to hold the bridge from the bottom. There seemed to be a piercing mark on the wooden pole.
"Hm?" Dahlia asked, kneeling down next to Miles. She wore her usual white dress with pink lace, but with white snow boots. Her pink scarf was wrapped around her shoulders.
