Hinata POV
The first thing I heard when I woke up was my own heavy breathing.

When I tried to open my eyes, my once clear vision was overshadowed by a blinding light.

I tightened my grip, and ended up squeezing something that felt like a bed.

Where am I?
Who am I?
What's going on?

"Calm down now."

My panicked state subsides when a voice travels through the room.

I try so desperately to speak, but my throat is parched; like I hadn't had water for days.

I manage to squeeze out a "Sorry" but it ends up coming out in a hoarse whisper.

My vision cleared up and above me was a white ceiling.

I tried swallowing, but there was no fluids in my mouth.

"My names doctor Hayashi" the voice says "You're in Miyagi Cental Hospital. Can you sit up?"

Using my weak forearms, I force myself up to lean against the bedhead.

When I open my eyes again, a slim brunette man is sitting on a chair next to a bed I was sitting on, handing me a glass saying, "You must be thirsty"

"Thanks..." I say, softly and confused, taking a sip from the glass he's just handed me.

I swish it around my mouth and swallow it, the refreshing taste of it satisfying my dry mouth.

I could drink ten, thirty, fifty glasses of water I'm so thirsty.

"I'm sorry" I say once I've finished the glass "But what's going on?"

It takes all my strength not to freak out, and I guess the only reason I didn't was because of how weak my body was.

I was hoping his response would answer all of the questions I have.

"I'll tell you in a moment" he says, taking the empty cup from my hands, "First, I'm going to need you to answer a few questions. We do this with everyone so don't worry; tell me your name"

My name?
Do I have a name?
If I do, am I supposed to know it?

"I-I don't know"

His eyes widen a little and he writes on the notepad I didn't know I had until now.

"What about... your nationality?"

I shake my head.

"Hobbies or favourite activities?"

I shake my head.

"Anything at all?"

Again, I shake my head and say, "I'm sorry... I don't remember anything"

One week earlier
(This isn't a flashback or a memory it's just a scene to clarify things)

"Shut up!" I say to myself, using my pillow as earmuffs.

I can't sleep.
It's three in the morning and I haven't gotten a wink of rest.

The wind blowing against my window makes it rattle, and the sound makes me sick.

I pick my phone up, and quickly shut my eyes as the brightness blinds me.

"Come on!" I mumble, turning the brightness down all the way.

I end up messaging Kageyama, who I know'll be awake.

After all, the winds coming from his side of down so he's bound to hear it.

Hinata: Hey, you up? 3:07

Kageyama: No 3:10

Hinata: I can't sleeep 3:10

Kageyama: And? What do you want me to do about it? 3:10

I can't tell if he's being sarcastic or serious, he isn't the type to ask rhetorical questions.

Hinata: How about I ride to your house? First one to take a picture of the other and send it wins, I'll go home straight after, promise. Loser buys the other meat buns? 3:11

He didn't message back for awhile and honestly I thought he fell asleep.

I however, was already putting on my shirt and grabbing my jumper.

It didn't matter where I was going; I needed to get out.

I had to use all of my body strength to keep the door from slamming.

It was a lot windier than I thought it was, even the largest of trees were swaying.

I didn't care.

Not even putting a helmet on, I sit on my bike and take out my phone to see if Kageyama responded.

Kageyama: Fine, whatever. Get here quick before I fall asleep. 3:19

I knew the only way to get Kageyama to agree was to challenge him to a competition, and I guess it worked. He's way too easy to read.

The path that I go on everyday is a bumpy trail followed by a long and steep road.

As my tires skid along the many specs of sand and small stones, I feel myself swaying left and right.

Finding it difficult to keep my balance, I come to the roads start.

Completely forgetting about the weather conditions, I get excited when I see that's it's pretty much empty.

Without a second thought I push my pedal one final time before being taken by the downhill road.

"WOO!" I call, careful not to wake the people in the nearby houses.

I was having so much fun going downhill that I didn't even realise my eyes were closed.

I opened my eyelids only to realise I had swerved into the next lane from the breeze.

My eyes were struck with an illuminating light, and my ears rang with a sound of loud honking.

In the moment, none of it mattered to me.
Because nothing could compare to the pain I felt just moments after.

Screeeeetch.

Hinata POV
Back to the present
The doctor smiled sadly and stood up.

"Do me a favour and wait here, will ya? I'll be right back, promise"

He goes to walk out the door, but stops himself mid way and just sort of lingers at the doorway.

A hear another voice; this time a woman's.

"Is be awake?" she says "Can we see him"

"I'm sorry" Dr. Hayashi says "You're good to go and see him but..."

He whispers the next part and I can't make it out. I hear sad gasps from the other side of the door.

"You can go in" the doctors says "Just don't get your hopes up"

He leaves and a woman walks in; probably the same one he was talking too.

She had faded ginger hair and a small, forced smile plastered on her face.

"Shouyo..." she says "It's me, your mother"

Hey! It's me, Tashia. I've had this idea for awhile and tried writing it a few times already, but it's never been any good until now. I just wanted to say hi before the next chapter.
Stay Safe!
