Kageyama POV
Harada and Hinata didn't have many classes together, I on the other hand had classes with both.

Harada should be in higher classes by now; he's rich and smart.

But he's such a trouble maker that they refuse to put him higher than class 3.

That isn't the reason I don't want Hinata hanging around him though; I'm fine with him being friends with whoever he wants.

Truth is, Hinata's known Harada since grade school, and although he doesn't tell me much, he once let it slip that Harada did something really bad to him.

I'm also scared about what it'll do to his head, considering he's known him for awhile now.

I'm sure he's feeling it already, even if he is trying to hide it.

I met him at lunch like we said we would.

"You should play today" I tell him.

"Play?" he asks.

"It's sucks just seeing you on the sidelines. I wanna see you jump again"

"I'm not even sure I can... it's hard to think that I used to play."

"Why?"

"Because I'm short, duh!"

Watching him talk like this is almost painful.
I want him to play.
I want him to love playing like he used to.

"Get up" I tell him, and walk quickly away.

"Hey!" he calls, stumbling to get on his feet and following me. "Where are we going."

"To the gym!" I say "I'm going to give you a couple of tosses"

Hinata POV
"Tosses?" I ask him "You're going to toss me?"

"I'm going to toss for you!" he clarifies. "And you're going to spike"

"But I don't even know how?"

"You never did! That's why I'm going to show you!"

"Are we even allowed inside of the-"

He pulls the gym doors apart, and an empty hall lies in front of us.

I'm already tired, I sit down and watch as he sets up a net and gets the balls.

"Kageyama..." I mumble.
He doesn't listen.

Within moments a net is in front of us.

"All you have to do" Kageyama groans as he pulls the tent of volleyballs to me "Is jump and swing"

"Jump and swing?" I ask "I don't think that's going to work"

"It has before" he says "Over and over again. Just pass it to me like this"

He throws me a ball, overhand style.

"Jump and swing" I mumble "Jump and swing"

I knew for a fact that I could jump pretty high; I did it during rehabilitation in the hospital.

But even if I could, volleyball players are huge! There's no way someone like me could compare to them.

I don't think anyone could.

"You ready?" he asks.

'No' I think.
I don't even know what I'm doing.

"Yup!" I say, throwing him the ball the same way he told me to just moments ago.

"D-Do I go now?" I ask just as he's about to throw the ball. He catches it.

"Dumbass, what are you doing?"

"I don't know! Do I jump as soon as I throw it?!"

"What? Of course you do?!"

"Fine! Thanks for telling me earlier"

We reposition ourselves and I throw the ball to him, running as soon as the ball leaves my hand.

The nets high.
Too high.
I can't get over something like that!

I jump anyways, barely poking my head over the top of it before descending.

"Hinata!" Kageyama screams "You forgot to swing! You call that a jump? You did better than that in the Aoba Johsai game"

"Sorry..." I mumble.

Aoba Johsai? I don't even know what that is. Some kind of event maybe?

He didn't even consider the fact that I haven't jumped in over two months.
What was he expecting?

"Again!" he shouts.

The next time I didn't jump high enough.
The one after that I didn't run fast enough.
And the one after that I tripped.

"What's wrong with you?" he asks as he picks me up.

"Sorry" I say for about the millionth time today.

"Stop apologising" he says "Just do better"

Do better?
What an asshole.

"This time for real, ok?" he says.

"Whatever" I mumble, not even trying to be enthusiastic for him.

Throw.
Toss.
Jump.
Swing.
Hit.

...

Hit?!

I open my eyes and I'm above the net.
I didn't even realise I was closing them.
The ball is landed on the opposite side.

I've seen this before.
I've been here before.
Where?
Where was it?

The view from the other side...

I lose my balance and grab my head as it rings, falling on my butt.

I sit there for a good minute, holding my head and adjusting my vision.

Kageyama kneels down next to me.

"Woah, woah, woah" he says, like he's actually concerned and didn't just tell me a moment ago to 'do better'. "Are you ok?"

"I've seen it!" I tell him "Kageyama, where have I seen that?!"

"You used to ask me for these kind of sets everyday" he says, sitting next to me "We'd play for hours, even if I got tired you'd never break a sweat"

"I did?" I asked "Was I any good"

"Sure you were, as good as a beginner could get. We even started doing sets where you opened your eyes"

For the first time in awhile, I wish I could've remembered.

"So..." he said "What did you think?"

Honestly, I can't say that I enjoyed it as much as he did.

I didn't have any goal when I did it; I sort of just did what he told me to.

Then again it wasn't the worst feeling in the world; finally being able to hit the damn thing felt really good.

"C-Can we try that again?" I ask.

"You sure?" he asks "Does your head still hurt?"

I shake my head.

"Alright" he says, standing up and picking me up "Let's do it"
