Hinata POV
Meeting everyone for the first time turned out to be a lot harder than I thought it'd be.

Although I tried to hide it, I was terrified.

"Listen up everyone!" The scary guy with the piercings said  rounding whoever was in the building up,

He tapped on the shoulder making me flinch a little.

"As you know little ginger is coming back today."

Little ginger?

"He'll just be watching for now but take it easy on him... Alright, you can get set up now"

Amidst everyone I tried to find Kageyama.
I thought he'd be easy to find considering he's so tall and everything, but all couldn't see him anywhere.

I felt myself starting to silently panic; I was like a mouse in a lions den.

"You ok, Hinata?"

I turned around and a silver haired boy was talking to me and looking very concerned.

I smiled at him, "Sure am!"

I definitely wasn't.

He gave me a smile back, "I'm glad that you're back, even if you can't remember us..."

"Well it's good to be back I guess?"

I didn't know how to act or even what to say.
I thought if maybe I was enthusiastic they would all stop looking so sad.

"Of course out of all of us it'd be you to survive getting hit by a truck"

A tall blonde guy who is standing next to me says, and next to him is a small looking green haired guy.

Judging by his tone I can't tell if he's complimenting me or mocking me.

"Where's Kageyama?" I ask the silver haired boy.

"Even now you two are still glued to each other huh?" he jokes.

What, were we dating or something?

"He's probably getting changed" the captain says "You all should too"

Kageyama POV
"He's looking for you" Suga says from behind me as I finish getting changed. "Not your smartest moment... leaving him alone like that night scare him"

"You think anything could scare him?" I say.

"He sure looked pretty scared" Tsukishima snickered "Especially when Tanaka and Noya practically jumped him"

They've been pretty silent this whole time, which although is unusual, is also very uncomfortable.

When we got back to the gym, Hinata was fiddling with a ball and sitting on a bench.

He tried to bounce it; it fell on his foot and rolled away.

I picked it up, gave it to him and said, "How's your head doing?"

"My head?" he said "I guess it's fine"

That's good.
I guess it's because he's only been to Karasuno for less than a year.

"Does any of this look familiar to you?" Daichi asks.

Hinata shakes his head.

"Sorry"

He didn't seem interested in practice at all.

I remember one time him, Tanaka and Noya were doing something stupid and he injured his ankle so he couldn't play for an afternoon.

He insisted on staying for practice, and practically begged Ukai to let him play.

He didn't end up doing it though, and he looked so depressing until the next morning.

I remember a time when he would have done anything to play, and now...

"Kageyama?" A voice snaps me out of my thoughts.

"W-Whats up Suga?"

"Maybe you should ask him to join us. He looks pretty lost; he could use the distraction."

I looked over to him again.
He was still playing with the ball cluelessly.

"Hinata!" I call unexpectedly. He jumps a little; what a scatter brain. "Do you wanna-"

Before I get a chance to finish my sentence he gets up.

"E-Excuse me!" he says "I'll be right back"

"Where are you going?" I ask

Before he can answer he runs out the door.
That was weird.

Hinata POV
I'm still not used to running, and end up losing my breath as soon as I run out the gym doors.

The tension in there was too much for me.

Even if the others didn't feel it, I could practically taste their uneasiness.

The fresh air felt nice in comparison to the stuffy and sweaty gym.

"I seriously used to play?" I say to myself.

"Yeah, you did" I jump as I hear Kageyamas voice behind me. "And you were good"

"Yeah, so what?" I say "It's not like I am any more"

"Of course you are" he says angrily "You just have to try"

"Calm down, Kageyama... Look it's not as simple as-"

I stop mid sentence as a bell rings.

"Get up." he says "We gotta go"

Kageyama POV
Hinatas lack of enthusiasm is really starting to piss me off.

Leaving him alone isn't enough; he needs to do something.

On the way to first, Hinata asks me, "So, are we in the same class?"

I think about it for awhile

"Not now. You have English now. I'll drop you off at your classroom and you can-"

"You're not?!"

"N-No..."

"But I don't know anybody else!"

"Dumbass, the whole point of this is for you too meet people. I'm not going to be with you twenty four seven"

"So you can't just stay with me for today"

"No, I can't"

As much as I wanted to and as much as he needed it, I was told to let him do stuff on his own.

I dropped him to his classroom pretty early.

"I'm going now" I said "Be careful..."
