Cheryl's POV

"She what? When-" I was cut off by Jason's cries.

I've never seen him this upset, I've never seen him cry like this.

I walked us to the couch where Toni helped us.

"We went to the hospital today because she's been feeling weak, and sick. The doctor told us she had stage 2 colon cancer." Jason explained.

"I-I love her, Cher. I can't lose her." He cried.

"Poor, JJ." I sighed. "We're so sorry, Jason." Toni frowned.

Jason sighed, wiping his tears. "I can't do it. If she dies where will I be? She's the first person I've fallen in love with."

"You gotta have faith, buddy. Okay? God is with-"

"He's not!" Jason yelled, startling us. He took a deep breath.

"He's not with me. Us. If he was then this would've happened."

"Jason. You know that's not true. You just gotta have faith, you have too." I pleaded.

Jason huffed, running his hands through his cooper hair.

"Fuck! How can this happen? Did I do something wrong?" Jason cried.

My heart broke into pieces. I hugged my brother tightly as Toni hugged him also.

Jason cried into my shirt, soaking it.

*Few hours later*

After Jason left, Toni and I talked for a while.

"We just gotta pray and pray. Keep faith." I sighed.

"Yeah." Toni frowned, holding Bri.

"What's wrong, love?" I asked.

"it's just... My mom died from a tumor. Ya, know? It kinda hit close to home and to see someone I love in pain and hurting. I don't want anybody to suffer the pain my dad did when his wife died as he held his daughter, the one thing that was left of her." Toni said.

I frowned. She was right. Seeing Jason hurt like that makes me upset. He was really hurting, it was like I could see his heart shattering over and over again.
