Back in 2012 there was a guy who apparently ate a slice of pizza from every pizza joint in Manhattan. It added up to some 362 slices, meaning, just three more and he technically could've eaten a slice every day of the year.

The reason I was thinking about this was because I couldn't believe how many options were available for pizza delivery near the loft. Usually Phineous is the one ordering our food or telling the taxi drivers where to go. Now that he was gone to an artist meetup and I had to get pizza for Charlotte and I, it was up to me to judge which pizza joint was the best. In the end, I just ended up playing mental Russian roulette with the nearest google results. I had more important things to think about, like how I wanted to approach the conversation that Charlotte and I were bound to have.

It kind of hurt me to know that she was hesitant to hang out with me today. I was somehow feeling like the bad guy, even though I hadn't done anything wrong. Phineous made sure to remind me to be assertive with her and demand the truth. The only problem with that was that, I wasn't a very assertive person at all. I quite frankly disliked people who were overly assertive and pushy. In my mind, if someone wanted to you to know something, they'd just tell you. Otherwise, it's safe to assume that they don't want you in their business. Obviously it hurt to know that Charlotte probably still had things that she didn't want to tell me, but I understood. It's not like she and I had been friends for years, or even months. We had literally just met a little over a month ago. She didn't owe me any explanations, even though I really thought she and I were getting close.

I guess I just wanted to see how things went tonight. It would most likely lay the foundation for the rest of our relationship... if there was going to be one. I very much wanted for there to be one, even if I hadn't thought about the long term of any of it. I was willing to, if Charlotte was.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. I shut my computer and stood from the couch, as I looked through the peephole, I saw her. Standing with her hands in the pockets of her simple pink hoodie, looking as if she had just stepped out of a magazine. I swung open the loft door and smiled, "Well hello!"

She smiled upon seeing that my energy wasn't angry, maybe she thought I was going to come at her with guns a'blazing. "Hey!" She echoed my greeting as I let her into the loft.

"I hope I didn't disturb your evening with this random invite?" I questioned trying to break the awkwardness that was between us.

Her blonde hair was down and touching her shoulders, "No, not at all. My parents are actually watching Evan for me, so it's no biggie."

I nodded as I led her into the living room. We both sat down and it immediately brought back memories of that time we made out in this same spot. It was almost obvious that she was thinking the same thing, because she refused to look at me as her cheeks beamed a bright red.

"Do you want something to drink?" I offered.

"Uh, yeah! What do you have?"

I stood and travelled into the kitchen, opening the fridge and examining all of Phineous's Muscle Milks and Kombucha's. Thankfully I had recently added some water and Pepsi, "We've got water and Pepsi, or if you happen to like something called Muscle Milk?"

She laughed, "I'll take a Pepsi."

I grabbed two cans of Pepsi and handed her one as I sat back down. We both cracked open the cans and took a sip, it was a little awkward, but somehow to soda helped. "So, I'm really happy we get time alone." I said matter of fact.

Her blonde eyebrows crinkled as she tried to hide an obvious smile, "Me too, even though you probably don't believe that."

Now I was the one crinkling my eyebrows, but not to hide a smile, "What makes you say that?" The question was dumb, considering that I knew exactly what she was referring to.
