Hope's POV:
Luckily Aragorn talked Haldir into allowing us to stay. "You will follow me." He says. We all get up and follow after the elf. We walk all through the night. When the sun rises we finally reach out destination.
"Caras Galadhon. The heart of Elvendom on earth. Realm of the Lord Celeborn and of Galadriel, Lady of Light." Haldir announces. It's beautiful. Even when we're on the outside of it. After he announces that we are led into it. It's even more beautiful on the inside. It's peaceful.
It is also huge. It takes us the entire day to get to where Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel are. We stop at the bottom of a stairway. When the two of them arrive they are shrouded in a white light. When I can finally see their faces I realize that they are more beautiful all other elves.
I can feel the power radiating from Galadriel. "The enemy knows you have entered here. What hope you had in secrecy is now gone. Nine there are here yet ten there were. So tell me, where is Gandalf? For I much desire to speak with him." Celeborn asks. A pang shoots through my heart.
"Gandalf the Grey did not pass the borders of this land. He has fallen into shadow." Galadriel whispers. If I had normal hearing I would barely be able to hear it. How does she know? "He was taken by both shadow and flame. A Balrog of Morgoth." Legolas says. I look down.
"Cause we went needlessly into the net or Moria." He finishes. "Needless were none of the deeds of Gandalf in life. We do not yet know his full purpose." Galadriel says. I look up, confused. He knew he was going to die?
"Do not let the darkness of utter doom fill your heart Gimli, son of Gloin. For the world has grown full of peril. And in all worlds love is mangled with grief." She states, glancing at me. She then turns her eyes on Boromir. He starts sweating then lets out a strangled sob.
"What now becomes of this Fellowship? Without Gandalf hope is lost." Celeborn says. "The quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail. The ruin of all." She says. She then looks down at Sam. "Yet hope remains while the company is true." She looks up at me.
"But do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest. For you are weary with sorrow and much toil." She says. She then looks in the general direction of everyone. "Tonight you will sleep in peace." She says. With that we are lead to two rooms set in trees that are for us.
I am given a night gown and robe to put on while they find me clothes to travel in. I am also led to a bath. I bathe quickly before slipping on the nightgown. It's so soft. I've forgotten how soft elven clothes are. I've missed the feeling of wearing them.
Once I have my nightgown and robe properly on I take a brush and brush out my long tangled brown hair. Once I am completely done I head back to the others. When they see me Marry and Pippin smile at me. "Wow, you look beautiful Hope." Pippin says. I smile weakly.
"Thank you Pip." I look to the others. "I'm going to go for a walk." I say. Aragorn looks like he going to say something, but I don't give him the chance. About five minutes into my walk I feel the power of Galadriel. I turn to see her walking towards me.
"Hope Mikaelson. It is an honor to meet the girl my granddaughter talked so highly of. From what I can tell she left a few details out. But for the most part she is right." I look at her questioningly. What had Arwen told her?
"She never told me of your heart. She said you were kind and caring, but your heart is true and pure." She says. I sigh a little. "No it's not. If I was pure I wouldn't ha-" "Have triggered your werewolf curse?" She asks. "Uh, yeah. How did you kn-nevermind. To trigger it you ha-"
"Have to take a human life, I know. But one action does not define you. You blame yourself for Gandalf's death. You think that if you had been in human form then you could have saved him with your magic, you couldn't, it was his fate." She says.
"Everyone I love or get close to ends up dying." I say. "That is not true. Aragorn and Legolas still walk among us do they not?" She asks. "For how long though? This quest is dangerous. I wish I could just take that stupid ring and throw it into the mountain by myself." I say.
"You are not tempted by the Ring's power?" She asks. "No, I have power and it sucks." "You are one of very few Young One. For most everyone is tempted. It is hard not to be." She explains. "So I've heard." I mutter.
"Hope I want you to think of this. Though you have lost a few of those you love to death, do not lose those still here to fear. Your heart is capable of unimaginable love and yet you hold back." She says. "What are you saying?" I ask.
"You believe Arwen and Aragorn are in love with each other, I assure you they are not. Tell him of your feelings. You may regret it if you don't. Now go back to your resting place and get some sleep. Tomorrow you all set out again and your friends will need you at full strength." She says.
I nod. "Thank you My Lady." I say. She bows her head and then walks away. Sighing I head back to the tree thinking over the words she has said. Is what she said true. Do I hold back due to fear? Should I let myself care fully? So many questions. I'll have to sleep on it. Think it over.
When I get back to the tree rooms I go into the boys to say goodnight to the Hobbits, but they are all asleep. Boromir is as well. Legolas is outside just thinking. Frodo is off somewhere. Only one in here awake is Aragorn. I blush and look down. "Sorry, I'll see you in the morning."
With that I go to walk out when he stops me. "Hope wait." He says. I stop and look back. "Here, we shall talk outside." He says and I nod and exit the tree with him right behind me. Legolas is nowhere in sight. "How are you feeling?" He asks. "Fine, I wasn't injured in the fight." I say.
"No, you know what I mean." He says, worry filling his eyes. I smile softly at him. "I'm not ok, but I will be. I've gotten better over the years in dealing with losing someone. I'll be ok." I say. He nods. "I know you have lost a lot, but I'm still here." He says. He pauses before remembering.
"And Legolas and Boromir, and Gimli, and the Hobbits. We're all here for you Hope. Do not be afraid to cry." He says. "I'm not afraid to cry, I'm afraid of losing anyone else I love." I say. I only now realize how close we are standing. I don't move away and neither does he.
"You will not lose us. You will not lose me." He says. "How do you know that?" I ask. "Because when you love someone you just know." He says. My eyes widen at his words. "What?" I whisper, thinking I heard him wrong. I had to have. "I love you Hope Mikaelson." He whispers.
"Y-you love me?" I ask. I curse myself for stuttering. He graces me with a rare Aragorn smile. "I do. I have loved you since I met you. You are unique, beautiful, passionate, unbelievably kind and selfless. To me you are perfect." He says. In that moment I accept my feelings.
I accept the love I tried to bury in the mines after Legolas confronted me. I let it all out. I lean in, close my eyes, and place my lips on his.
