I kept thinking about what she said. I couldn't wrap my head around it though. Raven is definetely the most confusing person I've ever met.
There was silence for a while. Was she asleep? I couldn't risk it. Maybe just a small peek.
No.
I let out a sigh. The problem was it was really loud. I really hope she didn't hear that.
A few minutes passed. No response. She has to be asleep.
My breath caught in my throat as I heard her voice.
"I know you're here. Come out before I make you." Her voice was as cold as ice.
"Alright, alright. You caught me." I said with my hands raised up in defeat, feeling a little embarrised as I looked into her eyes.
The thing was instead of fury burning in her harsh gaze all I saw was confusion?
Did she really not think it was me? Or did she just not want to believe it?
It didn't last long. That moment of vulnerability vanished in an instant and was replaced with a look of skepticism as she looked me up in down.
"What are you doing here?" Her tone had an edge to it, as if she were hiding something.
"Well, you see I was looking for you and when you weren't here I uh..."
"Decided to spy on me?" Her voice was rough. I was used to this of course, but now there was more disappointment than anger. There was something about her that wasn't quite right.
She was acting weird.
"No!" I shot out a little too quickly.
"Then what were you doing?"
"Hunting for dust bunnies." Oh no. That's a lame excuse. She can see right through me.
"Uh huh. And you thought that was a good idea because?"
"I guess I didn't think about it." I shrugged my shoulders, trying to sound nonchalant.
"That's not surprising."
"Hey!"
Why is she always so mean to me?
"I'm just stating facts."
"I think all the time. Like about what to watch or even eat." Or even think about you.
"Wow. Cause thinking about what to eat is sooo hard." Sarcasm flowed through her words.
I glued my eyes to the floor. I couldn't bare to look at her. There were a million things I wanted to say, but I knew I couldn't say any of them. Not now.
So I stayed silent. I slowly looked back up at her. And once again she looked at me differently.
What is up with her today.
It was obvious she was thinking. By the looks of it it was about me. I knew she wouldn't believe my lie, but she had no idea what I was actually doing there.
I wasn't about to let her find out.
"So uhh I guess I'll get going." I started to walk towards her door but she blocked the way.
"Not so fast. I'm not finished with you yet." She smirked at me and it was terrifying.
I have no idea what she's thinking. All I know is that it's not good.
