"Wake up, you drooling idiot." Someone said, lightly kicking my side. I looked up to see that it was Raven?
"But I... you" I babbled out.
"Speak clearly."
"What happend?"
"I could ask you the same thing. After the other day I stayed in my room for a while. But after you didn't bother me I figured I should check on you, but you were out cold." She explained, matter of factly.
"You were worried about me." I smirked it her. She turned away from me in a second.
"Was not! I just wanted to know where you were in case something happens."
"Oh." She still didn't want anything to do with me.
My thoughts were interrupted by the crime alert. The others were still gone. Whoever it is we can handle it ourselves.
Raven was right. Something did happen.
"I'm going to this location," she pointed at her communicator, "with or without you." She flew off towards that direction and left me. I wasn't about to let that happen.
"You can't get rid of me that easily." She just scoffed. She was definetely still mad.
"Talk to me Raven. What's wrong?"
"You should know."
No one said a thing. Complete silence covered everything in sight. Not even a bird was heard. We must be getting close.
Not a moment too soon, it came into sight. I recognized it in an instant.
Raven stopped and stared down at the broken down building.
Was that fear in her eyes?
No. Raven wasn't afraid of anything. That's one of the things I love about her.
She flew downward catiously. I followed, looking around for any signs of danger.
We walked into this big room, with screens on the walls.
But no one was there.
I began doubting coming here. I was about to turn around, when I heard a voice. Not just any voice. His voice.
"Ah, so glad you could join us."
He came out of the shadows. His half orange half black mask gleaming in the half light.
"Why are we here?" Raven hissed.
"You see, I have a score to settle with the green one." Raven looked at me in confusion.
I knew exactly what he was talking about.
"Your 'score' is between you and me. Leave Raven out of this."
"Oh, how sweet. Trying to be the hero. Don't worry. You won't last long."
He just stood there. Why wasn't he doing anything? He's taunting me. Trying to make me angry. Let him out again.
"Why aren't you attacking?"
"You see Beastboy, the thing is I've evolved." Evolved? What is that supposed to mean?
That's when he pulled out a gun from his pocket.
He pointed it at me.
"Any last words?"
This was the end. I knew I couldn't dodge a bullet. If I ran he would just find me. So I just closed my eyes and accepted my fate.
But the bullet never came. Or it least I don't think it did. Bullets are supposed to hurt. Right?
I opened my eyes to see Raven.
She had jumped in front of me and taken a bullet to the head.
Blood seeped through the wound until half of her face was covered. She hissed in pain.
What have I done!
She wasn't supposed to do that.
But she did. She saved me.
Slade looked surprised for a moment, but only just.
"Well if I can't have you I guess she'll have to do." He snickered.
I heard the gun shot again and before I knew what was happening Raven was lying on the ground. Her leotard was soaked with blood.
