“So, who’s your aunt?” I asked to the girl after we had ramen for dinner. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty that reminded me of….her…

“The ramen is delicious.” She said after she finished eating. “But your house is horrible. It needs to be cleaned.”

“Oi, answer me girl.”

“Himawari.”

I felt a small pain in my chest as she said her name. “Yeah, so tell me who your aunt is.”

“Why should I? She left me anyway.” She said in a sad tone.

“Left you? Why?”

“She told me that I needed to find my father Uzumaki Naruto. That you should take care of me like it had always been.” She said while lowering her head and playing with her fingers….just like she used to do when she was a little kid.

“How old are you?"

“Eight years old.” She replied.

Then it hit me. “It can’t be…” I was in shock and suddenly remembered that night. Hanabi was young by that time so it’s impossible that she might be the one who left her. It could’ve been Hiashi the one who raised her. But she said it was her aunt.

“Can we go to school tomorrow?” she asked with curiosity.

“School? What school?” I asked.

“The school I’ve been going all my life. The one where all normal kids go, duh…” she said in annoyance as she describe the public school of the city. That confirmed me that Hiashi, with all the money he has couldn’t have sent her to a public school. Meaning that he didn’t raised her and that she was not the daughter I abandoned 8 years ago.

Later that night I called Sasuke asking if he could make Sakura do a DNA test to make sure that she was my daughter. He said he could ask her, but reminded me that she was extremely busy at the time with her new mental hospital. Plus she was still angry at me for what I did back then.

The next day I went out to take Himawari to school. The city was full of people early in the morning mostly because many were going to their jobs and schools. I grabbed Himawari by her jacket to make sure she didn’t leave my side.

“I have arms you know…” she said in annoyance.

“I know” I said.

“So, you can release me now”

“There’s too many people so I can’t.”

“Release me!”

“No!”

“Yes!”

“Hima, no!” I said in annoyance before I crashed into someone, making her lose all her belongings. “Great look what you made me do Himawari!”

“We’re sorry.” Himawari said as she started to pick up all the books for the blonde woman.

“It’s okay little one, you don’t have to worry.” The blonde girl said before her purple eyes met mines and stood in a trance for a minute. “It’s my fault anyway…”

“I…uh…” I said in complete numbness.

“Papa!” Himawari said as I came back to reality.

“Oh! Sure, don’t worry my lady I should’ve been more careful especially when I have a kid to take care for dattebayo.” I said with an awkward grin. “My name’s Naruto. Uzumaki Naruto.”

“And mine’s Himawari”

“Nice to meet you Himawari. My name’s Shion and just for you to know, don’t let your father be this clumsy." She said as she gathered her things. "Well I gotta keep going. Have a nice day!"

"Bye!!" Himawari said while waving her hand. Then she turned to face me. "Are you in love?"

"Wha- girl what the hell are you talking about?! That's ridiculous dattebayo!" I said in embarrassment as she giggled. "Anyway let's get you to school."

I left her at the school and once I made sure she entered classes I immediately called Sasuke.

"So, how you're doing on your first day as a father?" He said.

"Did you do what I told you?" I asked, ignoring his teasing tone.

"Did she told you the name of her aunt?"

"No, she says that it doesn't matter anyways"

"And you believed her"

"Well-"

"Dang it usuratonkachi." He cursed before letting out a huge sigh. "Look, I'll meet Sakura later for lunch. But I won't promise you anything okay?"

"Teme! Just tell her that's not for me dattebayo! If you say that it is for me then she'll deny helping us."

"Dude I can't lie to her! I'll break the promise I made to her 2 years ago!" Sasuke replied. "Besides she'll kill me if she finds out."

"Come on teme!"

"Dobe, no."

"Teme!"

"Dobe."

"Teme!"

"Have you found any decent job yet?"

"Don't change the topic dattebayo!"

"Dude you have no choice. Just suck it up and take care for her. I'll do what you asked, but you have to promise me that you'll take care of her no matter what."

"Why are you so into me becoming a father dattebayo? She's probably not even my daughter." I said in annoyance.

"Because even if she’s not, she's here for a reason. And you owe it to your wife!"

That hit me. I remained silent for a while before taking a huge breath. "You're still not going to forgive me for that right?"

"Hn. You didn't even send her to an orphanage. It wasn't another good choice either, but we both come from an orphanage and at least they give you food and clothes." He sighed. "You left her on the streets Naruto and you didn't even checked if they opened the gates and took her in."

I shut my eyes, trying to suppress the memory of that day. "Just talk to Sakura. I'll take care of the rest."
