The Birthday Surprise: Niji X Reader

So today is my best friends, and proof readers birthday! I wrote this story for her, for her birthday, so happy birthday Keef_The_Pineapple! I love you (friendly way) and hope you have a good day and birthday! Enjoy!

You were close childhood friends with the Vinsmoke family. You were even so close to them that you would even call Vinsmoke Judge your second father, and you would even call all his kids your siblings. Well except Niji, because over the time spent with them, you grew a different type of feeling of care for him. You knew their background and everything with Sanji, even with how they treated him, you even still kept in touch with him after he left. You never liked how all of the others treated Sanji and whenever you were there you always stood up for Sanji and whenever you did, Niji actually looked slightly guilty, looking away. Judge was never to happy about it but he ignored because you always trained with them and you always kept up with them and even became as strong as them, even though you were just a normal human, so Judge always thought you were special so he just put off the fact that you stood up for Sanji and just shrugged it off. You and Niji spent most of the time together when you visited them, spending more time with you after Sanji had left, so you both were the closest out of all the siblings. Today, you were going over to visit the Vinsmoke family once again, but before you left, you had received a letter. You opened the letter to see it was from Sanji, it had read: 'Happy Birthday (Y/N). I hope you're doing well and I hope you have a good day, because you deserve it, hope to see you soon and stay well. -Sanji' You smiled at the letter as you put it up somewhere for safe keeping. He remembered what today is. He remembered your birthday. You quickly wrote a response thank you letter and sent it off before running over to the Vinsmokes.

"Judge!" You happily called out as you walked through the halls past all the maids who knew you. Judge and the others quickly came walking out of a random room and Judge had a strained smile on his face.

"Ah (Y/N), welcome, we weren't expecting you to be here." He said and you walked up to him with a large smile.

"Yea, that's because I didn't tell anyone I would be coming today, because I wanted it to be a surprise!" You said happily and Judge nodded a few times before bending down to whisper in Niji's ear.

"Go and entertain our guest, we're busy at the moment." he whispered and you frowned.

"Are you guys busy? Because if so I could always come back later or another day..." You said slowly trailing off but Judge shot up and shook his head.

"No! No! Your fine, your not bothering us, we're not busy at all, but Niji here will be taking you around today for a bit." Judge said as he slightly pushed Niji forward. You looked at Niji before shrugging with a smile.

"Ok!" You simply said as you walked over to Niji and met him halfway.

"We'll see you two in a little bit." Judge said ushering Ichiji, Yonji and Reiji all back into the room and closing the door right away. You then looked at Niji who was looking at you before catching your eye and quickly looking away.

"So, Niji, what are we doing today?" You asked excitedly and Niji rubbed the back of his neck still looking off to the side.

"What do you want to do?" He asked instead and you smiled, you had always noticed that when Niji was with you than other people, he was slightly kinder. You looked up at him, just slightly passed his head and thought for a few seconds as he looked down at you nervously before you looked at him in his eyes with a huge smile.

"Well since neither of us had anything planned and can't think of anything, why don't we just talk for a while?" You suggested and Niji shrugged but nodded nonetheless as you happily with a smile grabbed Niji's hand and pulled him towards and into his room where the both of you most of the time hung out so you both could have some privacy for when you talked like this. After a while of talking, you took a side glance at Niji before smirking and quickly swiping his blue glasses and running away from him while putting them on. After Niji sat there for a few seconds in surprise he quickly jumped up and looked at your smiling face who was standing there and staring back at him.
