Vincent's POV
As soon as I was dressed in a neat white suit and white jeans, I rushed out to go and meet Luc for our marriage on paper. Lisa and Daisy scowled as I left because they felt that I should be getting ready for the real marriage now. I still had three hours to go for the marriage and I didn't understand why I had to prepare so much. Wasn't it about just wearing a dress? I thought with a shake of my head. I was walking out of the council building when I realized I didn't ask Luc where the documents would be signed. Thankfully I met Luc's lawyer McLagen outside who just arrived in his car. He ushered me inside with him saying that the wedding documents were to be signed in a room inside the council building.
I walked with him to a room at the back of the council building. I was a bit nervous walking around with a council member alone after hearing from Luc that someone in the council was a rat. But I figured that even if McLagen was the rat, he couldn't do much harm infront of so many people. My anxiety was relieved when I saw Luc with my father inside a room at the back of the council room. Luc nodded at McLagen and then looked at me warily.
"Vincent, my child." My father said when he saw me. As usual he maintained a cool demeanour but just like always I didn't sense any loathing in him. But at the same time I still felt the distance between us as I did as a kid.
"May I have a moment to speak to my daughter?" My father asked and Luc raised his eyebrow at the way my dad addressed me.
"Daughter?" He asked curiously.
My father looked at Luc with interest and then turned to me.
"You didn't tell him about it, Vincent?" He asked me and I looked at Luc hoping he would recall that I said I gave birth to Max.
Luc looked with a frown from my dad to me and then back at my dad.
"Vincent you are getting married to him and he still doesn't know you are female?" My dad asked and I bit my lips as I saw the startled look on Luc's face.
"Dad, stop calling me "female"..it's.." I didn't have words to explain the discomfort I felt especially when Luc looked so shocked. He turned to me, giving me a look that was asking me why I didn't tell him about it. I gulped.
"Can you please go in dad? I'd like to talk to Luc alone." I said and my dad shook his head at me.
"Apparently." He said with a sigh before going in. I stifled a groan as I bit my lower lip and looked up at Luc apologetically.
"When did you think you were going to tell me about this?" He asked me tiredly.
"Luc...um, actually I thought I did." I said nervously.
"When? There's no way I could forget something like this." Luc told me and I gulped. He looked uneasy and slightly upset. Well, atleast he didn't look really angry.
"I..I..told you last night about Max.." I tried explaining but stopped when McLagen came over to us. He said something in Luc's ear and showed a document to Luc. Luc glanced through it quickly and nodded at him.
"You should hurry sir. Mr. Thorne said he still wants to talk to his..daughter.." McLagen said, looking at me warily before he continued.
"..before starting the process and he has to leave in half an hour." The lawyer said before giving a nod at both of us and leaving.
"So..the daughter thing.." Luc said again to me, folding his arms over his chest.
I looked at him and wondered the shortest way to explain what I was, when suddenly Luc started talking.
"It's okay. I won't force you to tell me something that is difficult for you to discuss. This is about the small penis thing and the surgery we discussed when we were teenagers, isn't it?" He asked me.
