I was a Gymnast who knew how to throw a punch. That's what got me sent to the Headmasters office as I waited to be called I picked at my fingernails that always seemed to be peeling from my strict diet and conditioning.
"Ms. Demott's?" I heard the door to Mr. Perkins door open and my last name called. Trying not to roll my eyes I stood and walked in his office. "Please close the door." I complied and slumped down into one of the worn seats. I pushed back the hood of my sweatshirt and let my jet black hair fall into its natural waves to my waist. I brushed it back from my face as I met the Headmasters watch full gaze as he looked at me curiously.
I gritted my teeth together and I rubbed my hands together as my stomach fluttered with nerves.
"You're on the honor roll, am I correct?" He asked as he glanced down at my record his eyebrow's furrowing
"Yes Sir." I said quietly and tried not to fidget.
"You're a gymnast, no marks on your records or grades from what I can see." I glance up to look at me. His beady black eyes narrowed at me and his pale face looked angry with what age has brought it.
"Yes, I've been a gymnast all my life and that's all I do outside of school." I knew it was a statement but I answered anyways. My hands twitched irritably as I tried to prove that I wasn't that bad of a kid.
Mr. Perkins crossed his arms over his chest and looked at me with the slightest bit of approval and curiosity in his eyes. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you hit Ms. Roth?" He gave me an acquiring look and I knew this would determine if I would get off this chain.
"Dania was getting harassed by Helen and she couldn't stand up for herself. I lost my temper." I wanted to glance down at my bloody knuckles but instead I held his gaze and refused to look away. Finally after a couple of breaths he sighed and glanced at me as he wrote something down on a piece of paper. I had said something wrong and now I was going to get expelled, I knew it.
"Since this is your first time, I'll over look it." He looked at me but I held my rigid posture as he held out a slip of paper. His pale knuckles riddled with scares that I realized I had said the right thing. I took it from him with a slight smile and with thanks I left.
As I walked out of the office I ran into Helen her clutching a damp napkin to her still bleeding nose. "This isn't over, Gabriella." She snarled as her blue eyes glittered with hate. With a toss of her perfect long blonde hair she out the glass doors to the parking lot.
I glanced down at the slip and sighed as I walked over one of the bathrooms and washed off my knuckles. Not realizing I had just been scouted.
