After practice later that night I glanced down at my knuckles and the torn skin that looked red and sore. I shoved my raw hands into my bag to try and find the bottle of lotion I had in there to ease the stinging in my hands. My hands found the smooth bottle and I put a glob on my hands and opened my car door with my knee. I threw in my practice bag next to my backpack in the passenger seat with a groan I rolled back my shoulders and started the engine.
As I drove home I looked at my scabbed hand and pulled my sleeve over it. When I parked in the driveway, I sighed and looked at our house. The white pristine and giant house was too big for a family of four. But yet they're we were living in the richest part of town me and my little brother Adam getting sent to the best school and me being sent to one of the best gyms.
The porch light flicked on and I knew I had to go in. As I walked carefully up the stairs to the large double doors, I swung one open and slipped inside. I ran up the stairs and banked a right to my room. I dropped my stuff and promptly ran and jumped onto my bed, sighing as it cushioned me.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I picked it up and answered.
"Are you expelled?" Dania asked.
"No, it was my first offence so I got off with a warning." I sat up and shrugged off my sweatshirt and quickly put my phone back to my ear to hear her puff angrily into the speaker.
"Whatever," Her voice wavered and I could tell she wasn't telling me something. "So, I'll see you tonight at the clearing, Right?" She growled and before I could ask anything after I agreed she hung up. I know not to talk to Dania when she was grouchy.
The clearing was a clearing on the woods were partly people would go and have giant keg and speakers set up with a D.J and bonfire and most importantly no one I knew was going to be there, it was perfect.
"What did I do wrong?" I asked myself as I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" I called and propped myself up onto my elbows as I looked expectantly at the door of my room.
My mom looked at me from down her nose. Her eyes glittered with that perfect icy blue color as her dirty blonde hair fell to her sharp lean. She stood her up straight to her five foot nine stature.
"Why haven't you showered yet?" She asked and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"I just got back from practice." I ran an irritated hand through my hair.
"Your pushing it a bit late, aren't you? Practice ended at eight thirty, correct?" My mom asked as she examined my bag.
"Yes, Ma'am." I sat up and cracked my shoulders.
"Well, a friend of the family is getting married..." She trailed off and I groaned. My mother Caroline gave me a look of that was a cross between glee and annoyance.
"It is a wedding Gabriella." She laughed at my expression. "So, I have your father's card and we will be shopping in the morning for gowns. It should be the hit of the season." I still frowned at her so she sighed and tossed me a withering look. "You may even bring that friend of yours with. You know the one with the red hair?" She grimaced and ignored my growl.
"She has a name." I growled. "It's Dania. You always complement her when she's here." I raised my eyebrow at her.
"Well, get to sleep early. Want you to be rested for tomorrow." She shucked my chin. "No one wants a grouch." She said and ignored me as she left my room. As I heard her go into her room and then to bathroom I waited for the click of the bathroom door to close; I knew she'd be in there for hours.
I grabbed a zip up hoodie and my favorite tank top and pants and changed. I emptied out my gym bag and refilled it with normal clothes as I swiped on some eyeliner and mascara I squared my shoulders and slipped my convers on and snuck out of the house as I dumped my bag into the backseat and put the car into gear.
