Rydel's POV

~The Next Day~

I looked at myself in the mirror, satisfied with my curled hair and makeup. I quickly leave the bathroom, before slipping on my converse to match my skinny jeans and crop top. I grab a beanie, quickly putting it on my head before running downstairs.

"Hey Rossy. I'm going to Kelsie's place." I say as I wave at him.

"Kelsie Moore?" Ross asks in confusion.

"Yes, Ross. AKA Kelly Voosen." I say to him.

"Since when do you get along with Kelly Voosen?" He asks me.

"Shut up and let me go, hey!" I say, using a song reference so he'll let me go.

"Fine, we'll talk later." He says to me.

"Bye Rossy Jersey Shor! See ya later!" I say as I quickly kiss his cheek, before walking out the door. I quickly climb in my car, and drive towards the address Kelly texted me. I pull up to a two story white house, with an orange front door and blue shutters.

Does your house have an orange door and blue shutters?

I quickly hit send, not wanting to be at the wrong house. I wait a few minutes, before my phone finally vibrates.

Yea. I see u. I'm coming out now ;-)

I smile at the message, quickly replying with an 'ok'. I wait a few minutes, before I see Kelly walk out with her hair straightened, a beanie, converse, skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and her glasses on. She walks towards my car, before quickly climbing in.

"Hey Dels." She says as she smiles at me.

"Hey Kels." I say, smiling back at her.

"So, what's the first thing we're doing to make me happy?" She asks.

"We're going to see Mrs. Cuffner." I say to her.

"Alright." She says, obviously remembering our seventh grade Spanish substitute teacher.

I drive towards Mrs. Cuffner's house, before finding it and pulling in the driveway. I climb our, and I hear Kelly following behind me. I knock on the front door, before hearing someone coming. A older woman answers the door, with a three year old balanced on her hip.

"Hey Mrs. Cuffner!" I say as I smile and wave at her.

"Oh my gosh, Rydel! I haven't seen you in forever! You've grown to be so tall and beautiful!" Mrs. Cuffner says, pulling me into a one-armed hug while balancing the three year old on her hip.

"Thanks, Mrs. C. I brought my friend, Kelly, here to see you. She needs a boost in confidence." I say, smiling sadly at Mrs. Cuffner.

"Alright. Well, this is my grand daughter, Riley. I'm babysitting, so can you hold her while I talk to Kelly?" Mrs. Cuffner asks me politely.

"Sure." I say as I take the child from her arms. Riley squirms for a second, before getting comfortable and looking at me.

"Hi Riley. My name is Delly." I coo at her.

"Hi Dewwy." She says, trying to pronounce my name right. I giggle quietly at her mispronunciation, before bouncing her on my hip.

"Your a natural, Rydel." Mrs. Cuffner says as she smiles at me.

"Let's talk in the dining room." Mrs. Cuffner says, leading us all to her dining room before sitting at the head of the table. Kelly sits on one side of her, while I sit on the other, setting Riley in my lap.

"Alright, someone explain to me what I'm supposed to explain to Kelly." Mrs. Cuffner says.

"Well, Kelly doesn't have very much self confidence. She thinks being someone shes not will help, but it doesn't. Shes been bullied, and had no friends. She's depressed, Mrs. C." I say as I smile at her.

"Well, Kelly, the first thing you need to do is be yourself. You shouldn't care if people judge you, I don't, as you can see." Mrs. Cuffner says, gesturing to her bright yellow shirt and red jeans.

"Mrs. Cuffner, I try so hard to ignore it. But once they realize that the words don't hurt me, it always turns to physical abuse." Kelly says quietly.

"Kelly, sweetheart, you have to defend yourself. Say things back to them, hit back for once. Who cares if you get in trouble? They started it, and that's all that will matter to the principal." Mrs. Cuffner says, rubbing Kelly's back.

"Mrs. Cuffner, I've tried. The principal says we were both involved, and we both end up getting punished. I've tried transferring schools. I've even moved states and dyed my hair. But this girl Chloe keeps following me." Kelly says quietly.

"Kelly, just be yourself. Dress how you want, act how you want, get your hair done how you want, say what you want. You're a free person, take advantage of it." After her words of wisdom, Mrs. C grabs Riley, before walking back into the other room. I quickly stand up, gathering my things before leading Kelly to the front door.

"Bye Mrs. Cuffner. I'll see you later." I say to her.

"Bye Rydel." She says as she smiles at me.

I walk outside, and me and Kelly climb in the car.

"What do you think now, Kelly?" I ask her, not sure what her reaction will be.

"I want Michael back."

___________________________

Oooh, who's Michael? I know who he is, but no spoilers! I hope you all are enjoying this story, and I'm gonna start saying I need so many votes before I update? Well, in order to update, 3 votes? Alright, so 3 votes for an update! My best friend won't stop bugging me cause she just watched The Maze Runner and I've read the book so she won't stop asking questions. The movie and the book are two totally different things. They escape the maze differently in the movie than they do in the book. It really annoyed me cause its gonna throw the whole series of movies off -_-. bye marshmallows! Ily!
