The moon looked down upon the world, pitying the small earth dwellers that had to live life among the green, while it lived a plentiful life among the many stars in the galaxy. He looked down on the centaurs, running through fields of hay, bows aimed and at the ready. He started at the villagers in the small forest villages, most of them going to bed by this time in the evening. But most interesting of all, the moon seemed to stare at the small group of young men in the bog, their adventure just only starting. Seeing as he was indeed the moon, he knew everything..including the trials they would be put under, the challenges they would have to face along their treacherous journey.
Kaminari dug his sword into the dirt, the fire cracking like twigs in the silent night. The stars shone, but much to our demise the thick treetops covered them with no reluctance. The orange glow illuminated his dirty face, eyes growing tired by each passing minute. A few minutes ago the wooden boat had brushed up on the shore of a small island in the small sea of green murky waters. Sero and Kirishima were snoring on the ground, Kirishima's foot propped lazily upon the same log that Bakugo sat on.
He fidgeted, staring at his rough hands that were calloused from adventures he had whenever he had snuck out of the castle. He lived for those solemn nights of freedom with Kirishima at his side, where they would run through the trees, running wherever their feet and dense of direction longed to go. Kaminari looked up to the other, biting his lip nervously. "so uhm..are we just..not gonna acknowledge the fact that we k-" bakugo cut him off, still looking away and avoiding his gaze. "yes. Yes we are." "uhm..why?" bakugo grew more pissed off at the smaller boy, glaring up at him, blood-red eyes lined with frustration.
"kaminari..you know full damn well why we can't ever acknowledge..that" Kaminari started to get pissed off too. "no Bakugo, I don't. mind spreading some of your princely knowledge?" he practically hissed out the last part, causing bakugo to put his head in his hands and let out an irritated groan. "we can't ever tell anyone we kissed because I'm a prince and you're just-" Kaminari stood up, eyes were blown wide with disbelief. "a what...a pirate?" bakugo stood up as well, staring at him. "you know that's not what-" he scowled, reaching out and putting a hand on his shoulder, fingers burning through the thick blazer and bleeding into his skin.
The pirate felt the heat is the touch, the want, and the need behind it. Part of him wished and pleaded with the fates that he could somehow reciprocate the same afflictions, but after what the prince had just said... A small hole was in his heart, gushing out his emotions and leaving him feeling extremely heartbroken at the mere thought that his status would never be enough for the prince. the small blonde sheathed his sword, looking to him with utter betrayal in his golden-yellow eyes. "I know exactly what you meant." He ranked himself away from his touch, looking up into his eyes as he went to say something else. "save it. I understand why we can't tell anyone.." he grabbed his small leather satchel that was hanging down from a branch, looking away from the other as he tried to hide the very obvious heartbreak in his eyes.
The branch hung down from a tree on the other side of the water where the mainland was, moss and vine lining its jagged surface. Kaminari grunted as he grabbed onto the branch, using his arms to pull himself up onto it. Bakugo stepped forward a bit, balling up his fists. "hey! Where are you going stupid?" the small boy started to crawl to the main part of the tree. "on a walk." bakugo took on a hurt expression, looking away and to his feet as the other landed with a thud on the other side. "get some rest, your highness."
Kaminari wandered into the darkness, leaving bakugo alone in the darkness, the only thing left to keep him company being the thriving fire in the harsh cold and his jumbled mess of thoughts. Why did he have to say that? Now he had probably ruined any chance he had with the pirate. He silently cursed himself and his bloodline, plopping himself back down on the log with a crack. Kaminari would come back soon, right?
