"Hey, Mom!" Ray opened and ran through the door. She shrieked with excitement.
"What's up honey?" Ray's mother said. She was working in the kitchen putting away clean dishes.
"Look at my new swim suit!" She exclaimed to her mother happily, as she showed off her new suit.
"Wow!it's a beautiful shade of blue."replied her mother. "Matches your eyes."
"When I saw it in the store, I just had to buy it. I knew it would match my eyes, my dark brown hair, and tan skin." Said Ray smiling.
Her mother smiled back at her warmly. After a short moment, Ray went straight up the stairs to her beach colored room. Her bedroom walls, the color of the sunset, and the hard wood floor the color of white sand. Her furniture, white and distressed with shells and nets as decorations. The bed was beautifully blue with white shells and a sea turtle stuffed animal by the matching throw pillow. She had an amazing view of the beach out of her double door balcony.
In the corner of Ray's room was a mirror. She looked at her bathing suit and immediately thought that she might as well try it on and take pictures. She began to model in her room, until something caught her eyes. She saw the beach. The waves crashing against the sandy shore. She thought that it would be the perfect time to go, so she called up her best friend Bree.
Bree practically being her sister, answered the phone.
"Hey Bree. Would you like to take a trip to the beach today?"
"Would I? I'd love too!" Replied Bree, full of excitement.
"That's wonderful. Be here in five minutes. And bring your bathing suit. You can put it on when you get here." She told her friend smartly.
"Okay, I'll be right over." Replied Bree hanging up the phone. About five minutes later, Ray heard a knock on the door.
She quickly walked down the stairs and opened the door, letting her friend inside. She led her upstairs so they could change.
In Ray's room, Bree went in and sat on Ray's bed while she waited. She was waiting for Ray for finish getting ready in her walk in closet.
"Bree!" She shouted from the inside of her closet. "Close your eyes, I'll tell you when to open them. No peeking!" Ray walked out of her closet and then said, "Open your eyes in 3-2-1."Bree gasped. "Your bathing suit is so cute. I wish I had the same one!"
"Aww, thank you." Ray said grinning and putting on shorts and a cover up for her bathing suit. "Now go change."
Ray waited on Bree to change so she decided to pick out what flip flops to wear and sunglasses; the retro white Clout oval sunglasses. Bree then came out in an orange bathing suit and white flip flops.
"We look perfect!" Exclaimed Ray. Then the two best friends did their signature move; their hair flip.
Ray and Bree went down the hall, and Ray told her mom that she and Bree were going down to the beach for a while.
"Okay... have fun! Love you!"
"We love you too!" They both said at the same exact time. The girls left and headed straight to the beach, with towels in their hands.
The girls raced each other to the beach, Ray's dark brown hair flowing through the wind and Bree's long blonde hair glowing as the sunlight hits her golden curls.
Ray and Bree's feet were then covered in sand, as they ran through the beach dunes. They felt the crushed shells under their toes, and the sand felt heavy and sharp against their feet.
Hearing the waves made the girls feel happy and right at home. Their hearts and souls were at the beach and in the sand and water. Ray decided to stop and lay their towels down on the sand. The girls relaxed for awhile, while trying to get a tan. Not long after, the sun began to beat down. It felt so hot, their skin started to burn by the sun's rays.
"Hey Bree, do your want to go in the water now? It's really hot right now."
"Sure!Let's go." Said Bree. Ray and Bree both headed towards the water. The water cooling down their skin quickly; but once the water hit their waists, it was cold.
"The water feels so nice!" Ray chirped.
Bree smiled then splashed Ray with the cold, salty water.
"Hey!" Ray exclaimed. She smiled though. Then the both of them fought in the water for a while having a water fight. They splashed each other, seeing who can get each other the most wet. But it wasn't a contest for long, when they both went underwater. Then they were equally wet.
When Ray came back up to the surface, she felt something brush against her. What could it have been?
