The later time arrived sooner than the girls had thought. Since it was so late, Ray couldn't walk Bree home because that would leave her lonesome and free to be kidnapped. That night both girls decided to just stay at Ray's house.
Walking down the street, Bree said "I thought you weren't gonna get wet."
"Well plans changed I guess." Ray replied.
"Tanner certainly likes you... and I suppose you do too or you wouldn't have gone in the water." Said Bree.
"Suppose your right. Tanner may like me too much though. He leaned in for a kiss and we only met that evening!" Said Ray. "And you only kissed Evan on the cheek, Tanner was aiming for the lips."
The night was silent and began to grow more quiet then they arrived at Ray's house.
Ray unlocked the door as they both snuck in quietly, trying not to make a sound to disturb Ray's mother. Ray and Bree carefully went upstairs.
Ray offered Bree some sleepwear and she then went to take a shower. When she got back, her friend was already fast asleep on her side of the bed. Ray shared so she wouldn't wouldn't have to sleep on the couch.
Ray that early morning at a dream. One of the most wonderful dream she had ever had. Tanner asking her to join if at the beach. Teaching her how to surf. She was taught by the best in town. She gliding through the water once she got the hang of it. But she was awaken when the alarm went off at ten-thirty A.M.
Bree and Ray both got up and put robes and slippers on and headed downstairs to the warm kitchen with the smell of coffee. The girls sat at the bar counter as Ray's mother was pouring and passing down coffee.
"Here you go girls." She began. "I was thinking that you girls will need a energy booster after that party last night."
"Yes... thank you!" Exclaimed Ray.
"I'm very pleased." Said Bree.
There was a knock on the door and her mother went to open to see who it was. At the door was the sweet young boy Matthew who was delivering newspapers to neighboring houses.
"Thank you!" Said the mother, handing him a small tip enough for a boy. Ray's mother went back into the kitchen and opened the newspaper and began to read. She read for a while then turned to the page with the big news, she read saying that: the girls lifeguard team has one remaining spot open and there will be tryouts for every girl who wants to try. Thee is only one spot and the leader is very picky over her girls. They have to be perfect for every cause at the beach whether it is hot and blistering or wet and cold with chilling pains. Through hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes, or whatever natural disaster there could be. The girls must be courageous and kind at all times. Smart and beautiful. Not an ugly person can be on the team or that would break code in the lifeguard policy.
She read the newspaper for a while longer then telling the girls that tryouts are in a few weeks so practice starts tomorrow afternoon. And the leaders will be looking around the town watching your practices. Ray and Bree grew with excitement. Both hoping that either one would have a chance of being a lifeguard to represent their beach.
"Agreed!"
"So you girls... this could be amazing for either one of you." Exclaimed Ray's mother.
"Oh my gosh! We have to look our best for when tryouts come." Shouted Ray
"Oh yeah... which means we need to go shopping for bathing suits!" Shouted Bree. Both girls became very excited and jumped from their chairs and ran straight for the stairs. Bree immediately called her mom telling her the news and saying that she and Ray are going swim suit shopping. Ray and Bree got ready and soon took off driving Ray's newly sports car she got for her birthday last month.
Her car was the newest corvette. Her sleek, fast, formidable cruising car she would drive in to many places with. It was the color of glossy red, like her lips. Flashing and expensive.
The girls drove around down looking super classy and amazing. Both got so many stares from everyone. And a few whistles from guys, not knowing if it was for them or the red beauty.
Ray and Bree finally arrived at Bikini Goddess, the best place in town to buy swim suits. When the girls walked in they couldn't believe what they saw...
