12 Days Before Christmas

Prologue

13th December 2014, Saturday.

"Love, wake up. Wake up, come on. You have work today," i opened my eyes groggily to the sight of my angelic boyfriend kneeling by my bed.

Ugh, Lidsy must've let him in without my permission again. Damn Lidsy. Lidsy and I share a joint house in England. We moved to England 2 years ago when our parents had approved of our proposal to study overseas. We go to the same school and work at the same place, at a quaint little cafe just a few blocks from here called "Blue Moon".

"Chan, what are you doing here at this timing? Did Lidsy let you in again?" i said tiredly. Lidsy is so going to get it when she gets back. I hate people seeing my morning face.

"Err, yeah. She told me to tell you that she's going to have breakfast with Taemin first and that she'll see you at work. Oh yeah, she also reminded you not to be late."

I groaned and rubbed my eyes, trying to get the fatigue out of them, "Well, okay. I'll have to get dressed now. See you later, Chan. Don't forget, dinner at 8, okay?"

I expected him to tell me he remembered, kiss me on the cheek and leave. But instead, he stood up and looked down at me while shuffling his feet nervously. I muffled a giggle. He looked so adorable.

"What's wrong?"

He looked at me sheepishly before opening his mouth and saying, "Um see, i have this business thing... in Japan! Yeah, thats right! I'll be gone for um, 2 weeks. So, i just wanted to tell you that i'll be leaving in 4 hours. Um, yeah.."

My heart sank as i heard what he said. Is he really going to leave me this abruptly without giving me any notice? I was going to surprise him with the new guitar i bought him as a make-up gift for the huge row we had. But, I dont know.

Whatever.

I wanted to frown and give him the cold shoulder. But instead, i gave him a bright smile and said, "Its okay Chan, I understand. So um, can  you go now? I need to get dressed."

He looked at me in surprise, "Don't you wanna spend  time with me  first? I mean... Im leaving!"

I looked at him with a blank stare and gave him a frosty smile, "So? You never told me you were leaving beforehand. That's your problem. Now please, I have to get dressed."

 "Um, okay. Im sorry, Eldina."

He leaned in to kiss me but I turned my head to the side and looked at the wall until I heard the front door close. As soon as he left, I let down my cold exterior. I sat on the  bed and forced myself not to cry.

Chanyeol and I had been dating for 2 years but these past few months, things between us have been on the rocks. We fought more and had more cold wars. I even saw text messages on his phone, addressed to Isabella. Who the hell was Isabella? Whatever it is, i hope he's not committing any infidelity. Only God knows.

I studied the pattern of the bedrooms parquet flooring defeatedly. I really hope our relationship survives. I love Chanyeol a lot.

Sighing dejectedly, i picked myself off the bed and told myself that today was going to be great. With that, i walked into the shower and got ready for work.
