"On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, nine ladies dancing."
17th December 2014, Wednesday.
"Lidsy! Get in here and pack up!" i yelled at Lidsy and Taem who were doing God knows what in the parking lot.
Our manager had been out the whole day and we were tasked to close the place down and make sure everything is neat and tidy. However, Lidsy had been slacking off with Taem for the past hour and i had to clean the counters and arrange the tables by myself.
Ugh, its already 8pm. Where the hell is she?
With a frustrated growl, i stalked outside to find the pair of them lying down on the roof of Taemin's Rolls Royce, gazing at the stars. I rolled my eyes at this and stomped my way over to Lidsy and pinched her arm hard.
"Ouch! Fine, alright, alright im going! Honestly, youre just like my mother! Bye Taem, see you tomorrow."
I watched them exchange a quick kiss and immediately felt a pang in my chest. The last time Chan tried to do that to me, i didnt let him. I am such an idiot.
Quickly, i rearranged my facial expression from droopy to annoyed and huffed in annoyance while tapping my feet on the ground. Once Lidsy started walking back into the building, i turned around to face Taemin with an eyebrow raised, "No funny business while im around."
Taemin chuckled and raised an eyebrow back at me, "Damn my girl's right. You are just like her mother."
I rolled my eyes and smacked him on arm, "And how would you know? You havent met her mother before, dumb ass."
I traced Lidsy's steps back to the building before calling out to Taemin, "Goodnight loser!"
Back in the cafe, I saw Lidsy cleaning the stove and coffee machine. I walked over to her and leant on the counter, "So Lidsy, where do you wanna go tonight? The spaghetti place or the Mexican place?"
Ever since the first Wednesday we arrived in England, Lidsy had been dragging me to eat out with her. EVERY Wednesday without fail. And the reason behind this is all because of a tv show. Walking Dead. When I asked her why we had to go out to eat every Wednesday night, she said "because Hershel has declared that we have spaghetti Tuesdays every Wednesday."
And that, ladies and gentleman, is how this whole ritual cycle regimen thingie started. All because of a tv show.
But its okay because I quite like this pattern. We get to talk about everything thats going on in our lives-school, work, boyfriends, friends, family. Basically everything. It kind of ensures our close relationship remains close.
"Um actually Edsy, I'm kind of not feeling well today. Can we skip tonight and just eat spaghetti at home? Please? My cramps are killing me."
My eyebrows creased in concern, "Are you okay? Do you need to go to the doctor?"
"I'm fine, honestly. I just need to go lie down."
"Well, okay then. Come on, let's get you home."
Half an hour later, we were finally settled at home and Lidsy is already in her pyjamas and getting ready for bed. I had tried to administer her cramp pills to her but she said she was already feeling better. I was suspicious though. Usually when Lidsy was sick, she'll lose her shine and there'll always be a sheen of sweat on her face. However, she was still beaming brightly at me before she went to bed. What a weird person.
