Your POV

I sat in our favorite school cafe flipping through Marivau's Life of Marianne, I was going to have to do a presentation on it in a few weeks so I figure I could get a head start on reading. I was both happy and sad that our professor had decided to cancel class today, mainly cause I hadn't eaten and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into their French Omelet. However, I couldn't help but to keep my eyes moving as I looked at everyone who passed me. Semi paranoid that they would approach me, no I wasn't a prude or anything it's just that none of the boys that came to our school caught my attention. So instead I plugged my earphones on my ears letting the soothing sounds of Chopin Etude Opus 25 flow through my ears as I flipped through the small novel. I dared myself and flickered my eyes Ronny phone to see what time it was hoping that my friends would be out soon from their classes. I let out a huge defeated sigh when I realized I still had like an hour left. Pouting I turned my attention back to my book and kept reading. I didn't know how long time had passed before I was startled when the chair next to me was pulled out and someone sat down.

"Hello", my eyes met Elijah's as he smiled at me.

"Hello", I smiled nicely and took one ear bud out of my ear.

"Whatcha reading there", he signaled to my book.

"Marivau's Life of Miranne. I'm reading it for my French literature class", I looked up at him.

"Wow, that's impressive. Are you liking it?", he asked as if he was so interested in what I was doing.

"Yes, it's so amazing", I looked back down at my book not sure where this conversation was going.

"Hey um, would you like to hang out sometime. We could go to the Fleur Cafe not far from here. I heard they have amazing crepes and pastries", he suggested looking at me hopefully.

"That sounds lovely, when do you want to go", I asked deciding to take a chance.

"Saturday morning, they have an amazing brunch I hear", he suggested.

"I'll be there at 11 ok", I smiled fondly at him

"See you then love", he kissed my cheek and go up from his seat leaving me in peace.

I stepped out of our immodest home and decided to take a walk to where I was supposed to meet Elijah. Usually I would have taken the train but it was such a beautiful fall day outside that I talked myself into walking the entire way there. I let my fingers brush the brick walls and allowed my feet to crush the dry leaves under it. Fall and winter were my favorite seasons, I loved when the weather got cold. The few days I had to myself during these season I would lay snuggled in bed with a good book or my journal, allowing myself to get lost in my own bubble. Finally I was a block away, I waited for the light to change so I could cross. Once the light changed I did just that, making sure I weaved through the people so I didn't bump into them. Flickering my eyes up to make sure I was ok my heart stopped when I saw him. His long brown curly hair stuffed into a beanie, he wore a tattered white shirt that had paint splatters on it and black jeans. I had never seen someone as beautiful as him, the way the sunlight hit him made him almost look angelic. My heart stopped and I had to will my feet to keep moving for the sake of not getting killed. I hadn't realized I was staring until his beautiful green eyes met mine, instantly making my heart stop. It felt like our eye contact was held for years before I broke it to look down. As I continued to walk I could feel his green eyes piercing into my back, but I didn't dare turn around to look at him knowing that I was probably going to get hit by a car. Once I was safely on the other side I turned to take another quick peek at the beautiful stranger and he was already looking back to me. I gave him a small smile and turned around to finish my route to meet Elijah.

"Hey didn't think you'd make it", Elijah teased.

"Sorry, I got detoured. I'm sorry I kept you waiting", I giggled bringing him into a hug.

"No, don't be sorry. It's fine", he hugged me back.

"Have you been waiting here long", I asked feeling really bad that I was too busy gawking at a pretty stranger that I didn't realize I was late to meet up with Elijah for our date.

"No no, honestly it's ok. Are you ready to eat?," he held his arm out for me to take.

"I am," I giggled looping my arm with his.
