It was cold, but May didn't care. She had snuck out to go back to the woods where Ben's small memorial had taken place. All the candles still lit, and all the photos, flowers, and stuffed animals still remained.

"I don't know if you can hear me, Ben. But.. please. I just— give me a sign of something. Of who did this to you." She sighs.

"Because whoever did this will get what they deserve. I promise. Just show me something." She breaks out into sobs, sniffling.

It was early in the morning, so when she gets home, her parents would wake up unaware of her even having gone. She sits there for a moment, until all she could hear was the wind.

With a sigh, she stands up, walking back home. She couldn't lie that she was paranoid whenever she went out alone, but she kept strong.

On her way back home, she happens to pass by the Barbers' residence. Just to her luck, she sees Jacob leaving the house just then.

She begins to walk faster, unsure of what to think after Derek's comment. "Hey, May!" He calls out. He seems a little angered by something, which frightened her.

She doesn't respond, she only begins walking away faster. Confused, Jacob runs after her, and reaches for her wrist, which causes her to stop walking.

She quickly backs away, watching him with her fearful eyes. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asks, furrowing his eyebrows.

"What are you doing out alone? You should go home." He adds. "Yeah, I— I'm going home." She informs. "Okay, Uh.. Sorry if I.. sorry if I scared you or something. Did I do something wrong?" He inquires.

"I don't know. You tell me." She replies. "I don't— I don't understand." He shakes his head. "Last night." She says, though he didn't seem to understand.

"You really don't get what I'm trying to say?" She crosses her arms. "No, I'm not." He denies. "Why'd you comment on Derek's post. You said exactly what you said in the car and you knew that would make you look bad! Why would you do that." She raises her voice for a moment, but slowly calms herself.

"I just.. I was angry. Aren't you angry, too? You're getting hundreds of meaningless comments and messages and being tagged in posts all because your brother died?" He argues.

"And what about what Derek said? You brought a knife to school? Why does everyone think it's you!" She continues.

"Not everyone. It's just Derek!" He shouts. She goes silent. "Did you kill my brother, Jacob?" She asks, her vision blurring.
