"Okay, So you're saying that a guy drugged me yesterday... and tried to take me away?" May asks as she holds her plate, placing a few pastries on it.
"Yeah. And he could have. I shouldn't have left you alone." Jacob sighs. "It's okay. I'm just glad you came in time." She smiles up at him.
Jacob smiles back, before the two head back to their table, where Laurie is already sitting. "Hey, where's Dad?" Jacob questions. "Oh, he just went to get some more food." The woman explains.
As they speak, they are approached by three men. Two of which, have police uniforms on. "Mrs. Barber?" The hotel manager says.
"Yes?" She furrows her eyebrows. "The police like to have a word with your son, and the girl." He explains. May and Jacob share a glance at each other.
Laurie looks to the two in confusion. "I'm sorry, what is this regarding?" She asks, standing up. "It's about a missing person. We would like to ask a few questions."
"Hold on, hold on." Laurie raises her voice. "They have to take your cards, ma'am. They're asking where is your husband." The manager continues.
"I don't understand. Andy." Laurie turns to her husband, who had just arrived. "Hey, hey, hey! What's going on?" He inquires, making his way forward, stopped by the police officer.
"It's okay. It's my family." Andy explains. "It's okay." He repeats, holding his hands up. They allow him to pass. "What's going on?"
"Hope Connors didn't come back last night. The police want to talk to May and Jacob." Laurie sighs. "Hope didn't come back?" May knew what could have happened.
"We have to take them right now. I'm sorry." The manager informs. "Okay. Okay, okay. Come on, guys." Andy motions for the two to follow.
May reaches for Jacob's hand, anxiously intertwining their fingers. "Please follow me. Please, this way." The manger nods his head.
They follow the manager and the police officers into another room, where May and Jacob take a seat. There were two other officers there, sitting down.
The officers turn to the manager, saying something in Spanish, which he translates. "What time did you last see Hope?"
"It was around 8:00, 8:15." Jacob responds. "May and I left early because..." he trails off. "There were boys, I don't know, maybe age sixteen, seventeen.." May cuts in. "They were drugging people's drinks. I, Uh.. I was one of them, but Jacob came before anything could happen to me." May purses her lips.
