I want to throw out there, before I get deep into this one, that after rewatching the Kaccako battle in season 2, I felt a lot more respect for this ship, and understood it a lot more. So I'm going to start with what I think are reasons to like this ship, or at least not hate it.

Bakugou respects Uraraka far more than he used to. As Aizawa pointed out, he fought hard against her as an acknowledgement of her strength. He seemed to realize how powerful she could be before anyone else. Someone pointed out to me that in the beginning of that match he called her pink cheeks, and at the end, he called her by her name as a sign of respect. Similarly, after the battle, Kaminari said to him, "I don't know how you were able to aim a powerful blast at a frail girl like that." To which he responded, "Hmph. I definitely wouldn't call that girl 'frail'."

That's pretty much the only real character interaction, unfortunately, but it was a good one. Rewatching it, in some ways, redeemed Kaccako for me.

In some ways.

My origonal dislike if thus ship was simply my dislike of Uraraka. While that particular opinion is a little weaker now, I still don't really think she's worthy of Bakugou's love, and that plays a part.

However, I can see Bakugou falling for her. Whether I think he should or not isn't important when it comes to the realism factor. That being said, he would have to do a lot of work to win Uraraka's affections. She's less likely to fall head over heels for him.

As for the dynamic, it's easy to say it's a typical 'good girl bad boy' thing. That may be backed up by the fact that, at least appearence-wise, this ship reminds me endlessly of Dramione. I'm not 100% sure why.

Anyway, based purely on the characters, you would think that. But when it comes to actual interactions (which he have none of in a natural situation, keep in mind), that doesn't really come across. It probably would have if we had more of these two together, but we don't, and that's leading into my main problem.

Where is the ship? Aside from that one battle in the Tournament Arc, there's nothing. I've seen that dance scene, I'm not sure if that's in the movie or in season 4 or what, but since I haven't watched either of those I'm not counting it. Even if the dynamic works, we have no way of really knowing, because despite Bakugou's respect for Uraraka, it never plays a part in the series. This isn't a jab at the ship, necessarily; more at the show itself than anything, but still. I would like to learn more about their interactions, but we don't get much.

Like a lot of these ships, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.

Rating: 3.5/10.

(Yes, that is Kaccako as Warrior Cats. I simply could not leave it out. That picture is literal life to me. I didn't realize this crossover existed. My life is now complete.)
