I'm bored, and have pretty strong opinions about this. Read the first chapter for more of an idea of what this is about because I don't want to make this super long
Idk how I haven't done this one yet, I thought I had, but I guess not.
I neither like nor dislike Tsudeku, but I must admit that I was very confused when I first found out about it. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have been, but I was.
I warmed up to it considerably after hearing one explination for it: Deku needs someone of a calm mind. Someone who can support him and provide emotional comfort. Tsu, undoubtedly, is one of the best candidates for this task. She's stable and empathetic, and probably would be the most successful at convincing Deku not to act irrationally or self-destructively. He listens to her because he understands that she has a lot of wisdom. And I get that.
However, I also think Deku would grow increasingly frustrated with someone holding him back. He breaks his limits time and time again, fighting desperately to prove himself. I'm not convinced that he would let someone stand in his way, and even if it's better for him in the end, it would damage him to be held back. While he respects Tsu's calm wisdom, he searches time and time again for challenges. I can't convince myself that he'd settle for anything or anyone that doesn't constantly provide those challenges.
I also don't know what's in it for Tsu. I don't think she'd want to be with someone who is impulsive and ambitious. I just really can't in any way see her being attracted to Deku. I get the vibes that she wants to be with people who are as compassionate and quiet and thoughtful as she is, rather than someone who might make her anxious. She reminds me a lot of Inko in that way; it would damage her to watch someone she loves hurting himself, even if it's for a good reason.
Deku is a naturallly kind and compassionate person. However, as shown several times, as hard as he tries, sometimes his relationships need to come second to his ambitions, and he needs a partner who understands that. I can't help but imagine that Tsu needs someone devoted to her, as she's shown to be very sensitive and relies heavily on emotional bonds. Deku wouldn't want to hurt her or betray her trust any more than she'd want to hinder him.
These are just my interpretations of the characters, and I genuinely don't think it's a bad ship, but those little things make me question it. I don't really think it would work, but maybe that's just me. I do think this is a cute and pure ship, and I do understand why people like it, this is just my take.

So for some reason beyond my understanding, when I searched 'Tsudeku', half of what popped up was Bakudeku. Whether that's a virtue or not is irrelevant, but I do want to share something I found that I think is lowkey the most amazing thibg I've ever seen.
