I'm just going to admit it:

I don't like this ship that much

It's fine for what it is, and if you like it, all power to you. I completely understand why it's liked, and of all of the ships throughout the fandom, it may be the most likely to become canon. It's cute, wholesome, and fairly meaningful. You don't have to do much reading between the lines to see the connection between the two.

That being said....

I have the same problem as everyone else seems to with this ship - it's boring. I in some ways and in some cases prefer a ship that I can openly hate. The thing is, I don't hate this ship, which makes it worse. I just don't feel invested in it. It's extremely predictable and cliche; the moment I saw Uraraka, my first thought was, '...and there's the love intrest. Great.' It doesn't help that I disliked her from the beginning, not only for this reason, but also because she frustrated and annoyed me for no reason. Yes, this may have become an Uraraka hate book... oh well.
Edit: I just started rewatching the series, and I don't mind her so much now. I really like her whole 'wanting to provide for her parents' thing, and I love the fight with Bakugou. I think my main issue was that she relied too much on Deku. I like her until she says something like 'then I can be just like Deku!' Maybe she gets past this in season 4, but I definitely want to see that development. She needs to be her own person. Then maybe I'll like her more.

The ship, for all its screentime, felt so underdeveloped, and the whole 'will they won't they' conflict throughout season 3 frustrated the living hell out of me. I was looking forward to a more meaningful and investing relationship, and it sorta fell flat. They are what they are, there's not much else to it.

I understand that sometimes this is necessary for main characters; the Percabeth thing was practically canon from the end of the Lightning Theif. The difference is that Izuocha never went through real conflict and development together, facing hardships left and right and growing because of it. Yes, I know that sounds like an unbelievable thing to say when that description literally defines the show in a few ways, but this ship in particular didn't really benefit from that in quite the same way as others similar to it. I feel the same way about the ship now as I did when they were first introduced.

I think it's completely justified to like this ship, it makes sense and the characters are very compatible. But I'll never see it as any more than the generic love story. Sorry.
