Arlo's POV

Talking to her about it and getting to know that they weren't dating got me relieved and happy on the inside but I was concerned about Carmen as well.

It was getting to her too much and she had become pale. Dropping her back, I walked back to my apartment with a content heart and saw that Dan was already asleep.

I dived onto my bed and pulled the duvet, all ready to call it a day but my phone buzzed from the nightstand.

Carmen: I felt a lot better talking to you, thank you so much😊

Me: see? This is why you gotta hang out with the hottest guy in the world.

What was I even typing? Damn.

Carmen: Oh yeah? Who even told you that you're the hottest guy in the world?

Me: I just did😉

Carmen: says the one who can't eat a cone of ice cream without letting it flow to your handsXD

Me: cone ice creams are annoying okay? They melt off very soon. Ugh.

Carmen: Just admit that you don't know how to eat it. Don't blame the ice cream:P

Me: Are you really questioning my abilities?

Carmen: not really, but I'm just reminding you that you eat ice cream worse than a two year old XD

Me: don't you have to sleep? Its already half past ten.

Carmen: I'm letting you go for now, don't think I'll forget this😉 G'night<3

That heart made my heart leap.

Me: Whatevs, dream about me😉

I smiled to myself and sighed, remembering how she giggled when she saw me struggling to eat a cone ice cream without letting it melt onto my hands.

My phone buzzed again, not letting me sleep.

It was a missed call from my brother. Why was he calling me? At this point of time?

I got slightly worried and immediately called him back.

"Adrian? You okay?"

"I'm so sorry I called you at this hour, but I couldn't sleep." He silently told me.

"Is everything alright? You don't sound good."

"I'm fine, its just that our March break started today and I really don't want to be spending time here, though NY is a great place and all that. To top that, I don't plan on spending half of the time babysitting the two little monsters." He ranted.

I sighed loud.

"Listen, A. Don't feel bad, okay? Do you want to come here? Stay with me for the rest of your break? Sounds good?" I asked him.

If that would make him feel better, then I'd do it. At least he would spend his break annoying me.

"Y-yeah, if that's okay with you. I mean, you'll have college and assignments-"

"Can you wait till this weekend? Its Thursday tomorrow and I have classes on Friday as well. So the first thing I'll do tomorrow morning is to book your flight to Toronto. Okay?"

"Yes! I'd love it. But, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, bro?"

"Its been so long since you spoke to mom, Arlo, how about you come here to meet her and we fly back to Toronto together? Please? She's been missing you, okay? Please? Do this for me? We can go to the hospital to meet her, if you don't feel like coming home. I'll take you there. But please?"
