After the fight with the blind demon you and Giyuu would travel across different villages, killing all sorts of demons along the way, 6 months later, you and Giyuu would get a message from the crow.

"East! East! Travel East to a city! A city with mysterious disappearances! Hurry! Hurry!"

You looked and Giyuu and smirked

"Ready?"

"Always"

You've never seen a developed city, especially one of this size, all buildings more than 3 storeys tall and not to mention, a hella lot of people. Gazing at the scenery, there were even trams, the mix of Eastern and Western style of architecture was oddly very pleasing to you. The warm lights and crowded streets, all brought a smile to your face. Around 10 minutes later your stomach grumbled.

"Well, we should get something to eat, I haven't eaten since last night" (it was around dusk when you got to the city) looking around you saw a small japanese style restaurant, checking in for 2 seats, you ordered a basic bowl of ramen, whilst Giyuu ordered a simmered salmon with daikon (winter radish).

"So what do you think this demon is gonna be? Just another hungry bastard looking for more meat to eat (you're a poet and you didn't even know it)"

"I have had many missions before, each of them were very unique and some of them were even challenging, I don't know what to expect, especially if you have the same level of experience that I have"

"True... but hey, it's been a year and a half and I killed more than 150 demons, so would you say I have experience? Ehh Aniki?~" you said the last sentence with your best attempt of a cute face, Giyuu just looked at you weird.

"Ramen and simmered salmon with daikon" the chef placed the bowls on the table, you took your chopsticks and was about to dig in.

"Hey! Aniki, this looks really good..." you stopped talking as you looked at GIyuu's face, with his shining smile, a few plates could be heard breaking in the background and your face contorted into a combination of disgust and curiosity, "I think that was the first time I've ever seen you smile like that" Giyuu didn't say anything else for the rest of the meal.

It was around 9 PM, a bit too early to sleep, but a good time to find somewhere good to sleep.

"So, Aniki, do you think the demon is going to try and attack us in our sleep, that would make this the 43rd mission where a demon has tried it"

"Well, it's a possibility" Giyuu was always like this, being terrible in conversations, you also think that you are the only person he's ever opened up to.

What contrasted from all of your other missions was that you are going to sleep in an hotel, since all of your missions were usually in villages and under-developed towns all of the had inns, whilst inns had a cozy environment, hotels (especially this one) however really stood out to you, whether it was the more expensive look and extra comfiness in the furniture, you never really knew.

Using your instincts, you took a running start and flopped on the bed, it was the typical white and well kept, with its blankets tucked underneath the mattress, trapping the person who would be sleeping in the bed and making it a very big hassle for you to get it out. Giyuu sat on his bed, watching you snuggle on top of bed (and the blankets), he smiled, you turned your head to look at him and his smile went away, you smirked.

"What's wrong Aniki?~ can't handle my antics" you teased, Giyuu blushed and looked away and you laughed, "let's investigate"

Both of you went out.
