Lydia was in math class, taking notes when she heard Kira say something behind her. Lydia turned around and tilted her head.

“Did you say something?” Lydia asked.

“Yeah what are you writing?” Kira asked. Lydia looked at her in confusion.

“The notes, what else would I be writing?” Lydia questioned not even looking at her notebook.

“Those are some weird notes, no wonder no one ever understands them.” Kira responded. Lydia looked down to her notebook and saw digits and letters scrambled all over her pages. Lydia put her face closer to the page studying it. She realized a pattern and gathered her things and left the classroom. As she left she pulled at her phone and dialed her dad’s number.

“Hello?” the voice of the man she swore she would never talk to again boomed on the other side of the phone.

                “Dad?” Lydia questioned, hesitantly.

“Lydia?” Her father’s voice quieted down and was in complete shock. Lydia rolled her eyes. Figures, he doesn’t even know his own daughters number. “How are you? Is everything okay?” He questioned.

“Yeah, um…I need to see you. It’s important.” Lydia responded.

“Oh Lydia, I wish I could, but I got a business meeting in a few minutes, plus, I’m in in New York sweetie, you know that.” He said.

“Yeah, of course it’s not like that’s the first time I heard that.” Lydia scoffed.

“Don’t be like that Lydia; you knew this before you even called.” He dad said back plainly.

“You know what dad? I actually didn’t know that. The last thing I heard about you was that you were with another women and lived in a house bigger than ours. It’s not my fault that I stopped asking for updates.” Lydia was fuming with anger now. “You know what, just forget I even called.” She said as she slammed her phone to her thigh. Lydia closed her eyes and took deep breathe and then smiled and kept walking. Her phone started ringing and she answered without even looking at the caller ID.

                “Hello?” Lydia answered.

“I’ll be in Beacon Hills three hours. I’ll be staying for two weeks; you can ask me anything you want then.” Lydia heard her father’s voice on the other end.

“Uh, um, o…okay, thank you.” Lydia stuttered.

                “Bye sweetie,” Her dad said.

                “Bye.”

Lydia walked to her car and saw Jackson leaning on her car.

“What are you doing?” Lydia asked surprised to see him.

“Well, Scott messaged me telling me that you left class with no explanation. He wanted me to make sure you were okay.” He explained as he climbed into the car with Lydia. Lydia started to engine and took off. “Where are you going?” Jackson asked after a moment of silence.

“I’m heading to the airport. Someone who can help me is coming.” Lydia answered with a slight smile.

“Who?” Jackson asked, with a small smile forming on his lips as he saw Lydia smile. Lydia just looked over at him and laughed.
